I finished a small batch of Spirit Hill turquoise pieces this week! 💙Just LOOK at the mesmerizing colors in this material! I’m awestruck every single time I cut a stone!
A little about this week’s work:
✨ The statement necklace features four beautiful Spirit Hill turquoise stones on a completely handmade sterling silver chain. Take a closer look at the extra detail ~ each individual chain link has been engraved by hand.
✨ The feather necklaces are two substantial pieces, with the larger feather measuring 3” and the slightly smaller one measuring 2.5”. Each feather was formed entirely by hand, striking a blunted steel rod against the silver hundreds of times until a feather-like form slowly emerged. I often create my own tools for the job.
✨ The bracelet. 😍 Oh, this turquoise! In favorite paintings, I’ve always been drawn to large, billowing clouds ~ and that’s exactly what I saw in this stone. Each graduated silver ball was individually created and soldered along the outer edges. I love how this detail draws the eye outward, much like following the expanse of an open sky. The sterling chain is also completely handmade and hand-engraved.
✨ The earrings feature a gorgeous green vein of Spirit Hill turquoise! I chose copper bezels for an extra punch of warmth and color against the stones. Each graduated silver ball was made individually, and I finished the earrings with handmade sterling silver ear wires.
