✨ AMERICAN BUSTLE TRANSFORMATION ✨

One of my favorite parts of bridal alterations: creating the perfect bustle. 🤍

I’m showing how I create an American bustle, lifting the train toward the outside of the gown while keeping the beautiful shape and details of the wedding dress.

A bustle isn’t just about getting the train off the floor — it needs to be secure, functional, and beautifully placed so the bride can walk, dance, and celebrate comfortably. 👰🏻‍♀️✨

✨ SOME ALTERATIONS ARE MORE THAN ALTERATIONS… THEY’RE TRANSFORMATIONS. ✨

This beautiful maternity bridesmaid gown came to me with a very specific challenge: the bride was 36 weeks pregnant and wanted to keep the elegant, fitted silhouette of her original mermaid-style dress.

The dress needed additional room on the sides, but she still wanted it to look sleek, fitted, and beautifully shaped.

I carefully reconstructed the sides, removed excess material where needed, adjusted the seams, and preserved the original train and overall design.

And the best compliment?

When her mom looked at the finished dress, she said:

“You can’t even tell that you added anything!” 🤍

THAT is exactly what professional alterations should do.

The goal isn’t for people to see the alteration.

The goal is for them to see a beautiful dress that looks like it was made for you. ✂️🧵✨
