They’re here.

The Noticing and Understanding reflective decks offer a gentle place to begin when you know something is happening inside but don’t yet have the words for it.

Noticing helps you pause and recognize what is present—without trying to fix it.

Understanding helps you explore the different versions of yourself and the ways they learned to protect you.

Created for journaling, personal reflection, recovery work, or use as a gentle tool in therapy.

$24.99 each or $44.99 for both.

Have you ever been hurt by someone and almost immediately started looking for what you did wrong?

When anger doesn’t feel safe to express, it doesn’t simply disappear.

So where does it go?

Making ourselves the problem may have protected a relationship, kept the peace, or given us a sense of control. If the fault was ours, perhaps we could change enough to stop being hurt.

But anger turned inward can become self-criticism, shame, self-neglect, or punishment.

The work isn’t about deciding whom to blame. It can begin by asking a different question:

Where did this resentment belong before it became a verdict against me?

What if some of the resentment you carry toward yourself didn’t begin with you?

What happens when disappointment repeats often enough that it begins to feel like proof?

Discouragement can be convincing because it rarely invents its own evidence.

This week’s blog explores what happens when a feeling starts building a case against us.

Sometimes discouragement doesn’t feel like an emotion.

It feels like evidence.

Maybe you’ve tried to get healthier, move your body, change a habit, or follow through on something that matters. When it doesn’t go as hoped, discouragement gathers every struggle, setback, and abandoned attempt—and turns them into a conclusion:

See? I never stick with anything.
Nothing I do works.
Why bother trying again?

Discouragement may be trying to protect us from another disappointment. If we stop trying, maybe we won’t have to feel the pain of failing again.

But a real feeling can still draw an incomplete conclusion.

The goal isn’t to force motivation or pretend it’s easy. It’s to separate what we feel from what we decide it means:

This is hard right now.
This is not proof that I can’t change.

What has discouragement been asking you to believe?

Sometimes we stay stuck not because where we are feels good, but because it's familiar.

We know the path.
We know what to expect.
We've walked it before.

Even when another path is available, the unfamiliar can feel more frightening than the pattern we say we want to leave behind.

Maybe the question isn't, “Why do I keep getting in my own way?”

Maybe it's:

“What feels safer about staying on the path I already know?”
