Hello Everyone! New Classes are starting this week. Please call to reserve a seat in one of the classes. There are still seats available in the Beginner class, Alterations class and the Kids class. Advanced classes are completely open. Groups are invited to book classes to make items for Charitable Donations, like hats and scarves for the homeless (as only one example). PS: A BIG thanks to everyone who came out to the Haws Run Community Building for the spring vendor event. There is another one planned for October.

Sew New is opening February 1st and I am booking classes now for Beginners to Experienced sewists. All classes will focus on clothing construction, fit and fashion. You are encouraged to bring your own machine or use one I provide (Brother).

The 3 hour classes will be 6 week courses, with a few exceptions-noted in the descriptions on the Sew New - A Fashion Studio For You page. Open House Wednesday-Friday this week (1/25-1/27) from 2pm-7pm. Just stop by and see what this is all about.

Home School families and group leaders - I can tailor a class for your kids also.

Sew New is opening February 1st and I am booking classes now for Beginners to Experienced sewists. All classes will focus on clothing construction, fit and fashion. You are encouraged to bring your own machine or use one I provide (Brother). The 3 hour classes will be 6 week courses, with a few exceptions-noted in the descriptions below.

The Beginners class (6 wks) is offered to those who don't know anything about using a sewing machine. We will start with a discussion about the tools we need, followed by an introduction to the sewing machine they are using. the goal will be to create three garments, which would cover different types of closures, such as buttons, zippers, elastic, etc.

Moderate Experience (6wks) I have set aside classes for sewists who have had some sewing experience, but may have not tackled all the projects they are interested in. These classes will start with a group project and then graduate to individual projects/goals.

The Experienced classes (4 wks) are to provide space for the experienced sewists to work on projects of their choice, hopefully sharing best practices and receiving assistance as needed.

I am hoping to fill one class (6 wks), at least, with young ladies who want to design and sew their own prom dresses.

Finally, I am offering an Alterations Class (4wks). Participants will bring items from home, clothing that does not fit properly or needs other repair and we will fix/alter those problem garments. (If you don't have anything needing work, you can help with my large basket of clothing my husband wants me to fix-lol).

Classes will be held once a week for the duration of the class schedule. Classes are available M-F starting February 6th. Afternoon session runs from 2pm-5pm. Evening session goes from 6pm-9pm. Saturday class is held from 2pm-5pm.

COMING SOON! SEW NEW will be opening in a few weeks (more details coming daily). Sew New is a studio for Beginners learning how to sew, Intermediates who may want some support while working mostly independantly, and for Experienced sewists who want to sew in a social environment, sharing best practices while they work. Classes will be held from 2pm-5pm and 6pm-9pm, Monday-Friday and a class on Saturday mornings to be added based on customer demand. Please share this post and email me if you are interested.
