A1 Shoe Repair at Deerwood

For the past several months I have been dealing with some health related issues and after multiple doctor appointments and tests the doctors have found issues with my heart. Earlier this month they discovered I have a delayed right to left shunt in my heart that is preventing the blood on the right side from getting the oxygen that is needed from the lungs before pumping into the left side before pumping throughout my body. The only treatment for this a surgery in which I meet with the doctors on the 30th to discuss.

Last night my results from a Holter monitor test that was done in November were finalized and revealed an abnormal holter recording and the results of that states there was recordings of bradycardia, sinus tachycardia and supraventricular arrhythmia. So as of this current time there is an issue on both the electrical side and plumbing side of my heart.

For those of you whom do not know, I am a single father whom has had custody of his three daughters since 2010 who were only 2, 3 and 7 at that time. They are now 15, 16 and almost 20 years old now and I have dedicated my life to them since their birth and the past 10 years I have dedicated the remaining of my heart, soul and time to the shoe repair trade. I had just celebrated my 10 year mark this past August.

With that being said, I have to put my daughters first and focus more on my health and heart issues. I have stopped taking in repairs and have spent the past month closing up my shop for a while. I am only open for the time being to allow customers to retrieve their items.

I will be taking a couple months off to recover from the upcoming surgery and getting my health back up to par. There is currently plans to open another shop that will be full of exciting news and surprises around March of 2023. I am not going away forever but only need to take time to take care of myself and my daughters.

Normally I complete shoes together from start to finish but, I only did one from start to finish just to show the comparison. Removed the fake glued on welt and replaced with a Goodyear welt that was hand sewn on, replaced footbed padding, added a white midsole that is stitched to the welt and replaced the sole with a lime green Vibram gumlite sole.

Replaced the soles on these boots with the SVIG Casual Cup Sole and added some extra comfort cushion between the footbed and sole as well as the sock liner .
