Today is bittersweet. Seven years ago, my life changed forever. Today also marks one year since I launched Toro & Tides a company born from everything that followed and built to ensure no one facing brain injury feels alone. July 23 will always remind me of what I lost. Now, it also reminds me of what can be built from it. One year down. We’re just getting started.

Overbooked. More like overcooked. I put too much on my plate today and I’m paying the price. Three hours of work has left me struggling to do minor things. Word finding is challenging. Memories of what I did this morning or a couple hours ago are gone. And the pain is off the charts. Word of advice to future Evan: pace yourself

One week ago I launched an app I wish I had after my brain injury.

Today, 44 people have downloaded it.

And I know… in the app world, 44 might not sound like a lot.

But to me, that’s 44 people.

44 people working on their memory.
44 people working on their attention.
44 people reminding themselves their recovery isn’t over.

Someone even downloaded it from South Africa…

That’s pretty incredible.
