Friday night we had a blast playing mahjong, eating pizza, and hanging out with our friends!

Ida was the big winner of the night with 4 wins at her table! Emmy and Samantha celebrated their first mahjong, and several ladies earned their first merit badges for their new books!

Emily is also showing at CCJLS and we would love to invite you all to attend and see not only our three show, but their friends as well! ❤️

Hello!

My name is Emily Slaton and I am a member of Lookout 4H. I am twelve years old and am in the 6th grade. This will be my third year to show at the Cherokee County Junior Livestock Show. I am a triplet and have an older brother and sister, and we love showing together. Along with my sister, I am also a founding member of BSA Troop 366G, the first all-girl, Scouts BSA Troop in Bullard. We hope to become part of the first girls to become Eagle Scouts in our area!

I showed rabbits and photography during my first two years competing at CCJLS. I won Grand Champion in Photography in my first year and was so excited to win Grand Champion again last year. I was also the Queens Contestant for Lookout 4H Club in 2022-2023. I would love to run again, to help raise awareness and funds for the Livestock Show to help other kids earn scholarships too.

I am so excited about my projects this year and hope to make sale again. This year, I will be showing in photography, baked goods, canned goods, rabbits, and showing my Jersey Heifer, Strawberry Cream.

This year is my first year to show an animal project besides my rabbits, and I got to show my Jersey Heifer at the Houston Livestock show, where she placed 6th in her class. I did this along with competing in Dairy and Horse Judging. I placed 11th in Dairy Judging in Houston, and the team I was on placed 8th in Horse Judging at San Antonio. I have had an amazing experience this year getting to compete at Ft. Worth, San Antonio and Houston, but am most excited for my hometown show, CCJLS!

I would love to win again this year and hope to share my projects with the community! I would like to invite you to attend the show throughout the week and also the CCJLS Sale on Saturday March 23, 2024 at 3pm. It is also possible to place an add-on to any of my projects. I want to one day become a veterinarian, so any money I raise through the sale or add-ons will be used for future education!

Friends & Family- Nicholas is showing at CCJLS next week and we would love to invite you to attend!

Hello!

My name is Nicholas Slaton and I am a member of Lookout 4H. I am twelve years old and am in the 6th grade. This will be my third year to show at the Cherokee County Junior Livestock Show. I am a triplet, right in the middle of an older sister and a younger sister, all three minutes apart! I am also a Boy Scout in Troop 366 in Bullard, and one day want to become an Eagle Scout.

I showed rabbits and photography during my first two years competing at CCJLS. This year, I will be showing in photography, baked goods, canned goods, and showing my Jersey Heifer, Milkshake. While I love all of the activities I am showing in, I am most excited about canned goods. This last year, I have discovered that I love to cook. I learned to make and can my own salsa. I found out how much I love making salsa for my family, so I am excited to share it at CCJLS as well! My goal for this year is to win my first buckle and make sale for the first time.

This year I also got to compete with my Jersey Heifer at the Houston Livestock show, where she placed 5th in her class. I also got to compete in Dairy and Horse Judging. It was exciting to go to my first major stock shows this year, and get to be a contestant at Ft. Worth, San Antonio, and Houston. I can’t wait to take Milkshake back next year and see how we have grown and continue my journey showing and judging.

My hope is that I will be able to make sale with one of my projects. I would like to invite you to attend the show throughout the week and also the CCJLS Sale on Saturday March 23, 2024 at 3pm. It is also possible to place an add-on to any of my projects in person, over the phone, or by submitting the form below to the CCJLS Office. My dream is to open a restaurant one day, so any money I raise through the sale or add-ons will be used for future school costs.
