You Found Us Upcycled Vintage

You Found Us Upcycled Vintage We are two retirees, married 50 years, who can’t pass up an opportunity to transform something! We are Pat and Mark. Booth 96 has black walls.

We live in rural Whitewater and are retired--and handy. We love transformations--taking something worn, unattractive, or in need of fixing, and making it beautiful and unique! We have two booths at Best of Janeville Vintage Mall (open 7 days a week, 10-5 except holidays) Booth 40 is near the checkout and has a harlequin pattern floor. Booth 96 is in the Southwest end of the building and is one of

a line of booths ar the right of that big area. We tend to gravitate toward somewhat quirky items, so check for those in both booths!

This week I toured Best of Janesville Vintage Mall looking for items that might appeal to male shoppers. Pick up a store map at the checkout and follow along. The tour begins in the southwest room, which has the highest concentration of guy stuff, IMO. Booth 96 is one of ours. Mark Bromley has a bookshelf with duck decoys, a vintage ice fishing rod, trains, and cast iron toys. Right across the aisle is booth 94, The Licorice Guy. Are you one? 🙂

Head towards the windows. Last booth on the left, 98, has a variety of guy stuff including an erector set! They don't make them like that anymore! Behind you, in the SW corner of the building is booth 84, with a cast iron Nutcracker.

Walking along the east-west aisle, turn left at the center aisle and look for booth 102 which has these nice Carhartt overalls.

Return to the E-W aisle and wave at the clerk as you head past. In the big southeast room, you will find can coozies (didnt get the booth #) and by the far windows in booth 15, a crate full of maps-- supper clubs, parks, etc., suitable for framing.

Okay, now head to the northwest section of the store. In booth 59, you will see a display of toys. Keep heading west to booth 63. Putting the fab in metal fabrication, Strommen Metal Fabrication's booth SCREAMS guy. Especially the bed! And the photographs in the next booth 64, are amazing!

And I totally forgot to get a pic, but booth 77 (a shelf down a hallway near where the tour started) has party type murder mystery sets. We bought one for a family vacation and loved it!

Whew! And I only scratched the surface! Guys! Get in here!

This week, I took a tour around Best of Janesville Vintage Mall looking for items in the $5-6 range. You know-- small items for Secret Santa, teacher gifts, and hostess gifts. I struck gold! Walking in through the main entrance, I found in Wendi Sue Wutknot Farms' booth ( #30), car coasters, leather bracelets, earrings, and bookmarks (sorry, forgot to take a pic)! A few booths down that aisle in booth 28, keychains, charms, and other small dangly items! Just past that is Jimmy Schmidt s booth (27) with mini cutting boards. If you head toaward the windows and go down that aisle, you will see Emme Goes Vintage in booth 25 has games, small tableware items, vases and Blind Date with a Book items, 50% off until 12/24 (sorry no pic). Across the aisle in booth 17, rings! If you spin around and head to the room behind, in Booth 5 in the northeast corner, Monika has Vintage Pyrex mugs for $5. Taking a detour into the alcove west of that area, I spotted a cool lighted glass block holiday decoration in this price range in booth 7. In booth 12 in that same room are bottle brush animals. Heading west toward the other big room, I spotted several interesting things: in space 52, glass owl ornaments, and in 70, hairbows,l and quilted hearts! I then headed south. In one of our booths, 73 (the one with the decoupage paper) we have cloth holiday pouches, mushroom ornaments, cheese spreaders, as well as Grinch earrings and more conventional holiday ones for $6! Just south of there on the left in booth 95, there are makeup bags. Right after that is our other booth, 96, where we have feather-embellished ornaments for $5! You're not going to find those just anywhere! And then in the SW corner of the building, Sheila Hainstock has jewelry in that price range, and American Girl Doll clothes. Last but not least, right near the checkout in booth 42, our fearless leader Sarah Jane Ahrens in booth 42 has yummy wax melts!

Ask for a store map at the checkout and have fun!

After adding a jewelry display to booth 73 at Best of Janesville Vintage Mall, I decided to highlight all the booths there that feature jewelry. Hope I didn't miss any! Because vendor # doesn't always reflect booth location (lots of us have multiple booths but only use one number), I am providing some location info. Best of Janesville Vintage Mall is large! Starting off with our booth, 73, we are in the southwest room at the end of a long aisle. Clerk Jimmy kindly volunteered to serve as hand model! Also in the southwest room is Sheila Hainstock Sheila's She Shed in booth 84, and displays in space 71, and booth 61, Urban Vintage. In the middle of the store near the stairs to Joni's Book Nook, we have vendor 45. In the southeast room of the store, we have vendor 17 with a truly impressive display of rings and bracelets (near east windows).and vendor 29, The Quirky Cat. Some have new, some have Vintage, some have both! Jewelry makes a great Secret Santa or teacher gifts. I will feature more of that next week!

The Fall release of Roycycled decoupage papers is in Booth 73 at Best of Janesville! Royce said she wasnt feeling the spooky this year, so we have a Fall Flock masterboard full of gorgeous birds in Fall colors, plus two fall paintables--Paintable Harvest and Paintable Fall. these would be fun to paint with kids. (Acrylics). There is a Christmas Flock masterboard that you could probably get a dozen projects out of! Then there is a musical notes one, with all handwritten music, and a new classical masterboard that would be a good background paper, but you could also use pieces of it in collages or junk journals. It has Da Vinci's Vitruvian man, statuary, columns, and architectural drawings. Love it! So good! See comments for more views.

Right now I have them on the two pegs closest to the Roycycled sign. I may move them around a bit this week.
