Colored light dances through a collection of Depression glass.

Pink.

Green.

Amber.

For a moment, it’s hard to believe something so beautiful was once given away at grocery stores and movie theaters.

Nearby, an old radio cabinet stands quietly against the wall.

You can almost imagine a family gathered around it, listening to the evening broadcast together.

A few steps farther, you discover a stack of vintage newspapers, an Art Deco lamp, and a framed movie poster from another time.

You find yourself lingering.

Not because everything is grand.

But because every piece feels intentional.

Made to be treasured.

There is beauty in things that last.

It feels like the ’30s.

Hard times.

Strong hands.

And beauty worth holding onto.

“Long before brands had logos, Artisans left their signature in every stitch.”

Leather crafting is one of the world’s oldest Artisan trades. For thousands of years, skilled leatherworkers transformed animal hides into belts, boots, bags, saddles, book covers, gloves, and countless everyday essentials. What began as a necessity for survival soon became a craft that blended function with artistry.

In early America, leatherworkers were among the most respected craftsmen in a community. Every cut, stitch, and burnished edge reflected years of experience, creating pieces that were built to serve families for decades—sometimes generations.

Although industrial manufacturing replaced much of the handwork, true leather craftsmanship never disappeared. Today, Artisans continue preserving these time-honored skills, creating heirloom-quality pieces that are meant to be repaired, treasured, and passed down rather than replaced.

At The Eras Collective, we celebrate Artisans who practice leather crafting because they remind us that history isn’t only found on the frontier, in old saddle shops, or along well-traveled trails. Sometimes it is found in a handcrafted journal, a trusted tool belt, or a well-worn leather satchel that has faithfully traveled through life’s adventures.

Do you know an Artisan whose leather craftsmanship deserves to have their story told?

She wore these pants to her five-year class reunion in 1972.

The day consisted of a carry-in dinner at the city park and an evening of drinks and dancing, at the Lake of the Ozarks. No phones. No social media. Just quality time, story telling and laughter among old friends and classmates.

She bought a new outfit, for the reunion. Tie-front button-down, strappy sandals and these pants. It was a cute ensemble, but the pants...the pants made her feel confident, cute and just a little bit sassy.

Decades later, the pants still hang in her closet.

Do they fit? No.

Will they again? Probably not.

Why keep them then? Because every time she sees them hanging there, she's reminded of the woman that wore them. Young, fun...sassy.

✨ Some pants are clothing. Some pants are sassy pants. ✨

You weren’t in a hurry when you walked in.

And somehow, you’re even less in a hurry now.

A macramé wall hanging sways gently overhead.

Nearby, a bittersweet swung glass vase catches the afternoon light. A set of carved wood salad bowls sits beneath a landscape painting that feels like a forgotten road trip.

You linger longer than you planned.

Then you find it.

An embroidered denim jacket hanging at the end of a rack.

The kind of piece that looks like it has stories to tell.

You run your hand across the stitching and smile.

Nothing matches perfectly.

Nothing is supposed to.

That’s the beauty of it.

A little art.

A little vintage.

A little freedom.

It feels like the ’70s.

Stay awhile.

“A quilt is more than fabric and thread—it is a story stitched one piece at a time.”

Long before quilts became treasured heirlooms, they began as a practical way to make the most of every scrap of fabric. Worn clothing, feed sacks, and leftover cloth were carefully pieced together to create warm blankets that could withstand the cold. Over time, quilting became much more than a necessity. It became a tradition that brought families, friends, and neighbors together, where stories were shared, skills were passed from one generation to the next, and every careful stitch preserved a piece of everyday life.

At The Eras Collective, we celebrate artisans who continue the tradition of quilting because they remind us that history isn’t only found in historic homes, country farmhouses, museums, or carefully preserved cedar chests. Sometimes, history is stitched together one block, one pattern, and one generation at a time.

Do you know a quilter whose craftsmanship deserves to have their story told? We’d love to help share their work and connect it with others who will treasure it for generations to come.

250 years! How many ERAS is that!? 🤔

For 250 years, Americans have made and built, celebrated milestones, gathered around dinner tables, and passed treasured pieces from one generation to the next.

Every era has left behind something worth remembering.

Here's to the stories that shaped us—and the ones still waiting to be told.

Happy 250th, America! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
