A mother was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.
So, she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her. She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.
The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew. She did this for the whole week.
As the two kids walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy 's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally, she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week... Do you know her'
Timmy nonchalantly replied, 'Yeah, I know who she is.'
The little girl said, 'Well, who is she'
'That's just Shirley Goodnest, 'Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy.'
'Shirley Goodnest...! Who is she and why is she following us?'
'Well,' Timmy explained, 'every night my Mum makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm, it says, ' Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it.'

Here are a couple of really cute memory bears made from shirts that belonged to my granddaughter’s mentor and friend. One she will keep. The other is for her mentor’s daughter. Wonder which one she will keep and which one she will give away. Which is your favorite?

Hi fans. Another order we can post now. Charlotte had several shirts that belonged to her husband, Rusty, along with a red bandana. She wanted three bears and a small lap quilt if possible. We got the bears done and created a bandana for each one. The 4 square lap quilt turned out great. We also took her fur baby’s Santa suit and made a pillow. We think they all turned out to be so cute. Her son and daughter were overwhelmed by this thoughtful , special gift. A huggable memory that will last a lifetime.

We’ve been really busy making huggable memories for Christmas. Not ready to post many pictures so we don’t spoil any surprises. We do have a few we can post as they have already gone to their new owners.
Ben recently lost his Granny Myrtle. She loved him dearly. Ben’s Mom had a bear made from Granny Myrtle’s shirt, a small piece on one of her dresses and three of her buttons. Isn’t he just precious? Here he is with Ben. I understand there were a few happy tears.

Charlotte only had a few bandanas that belonged to her beloved dog. She asked what we could do to make a lap quilt in his memory. We designed this quilt adding a few pieces of our fabric. It turned out so cute. She was very pleased with the final product. Every time she touches it, she will think of her precious fur baby. Thanks Charlotte for trusting us to make this for you.
