Enjoying dessert from two of our favorite counties tonight. Millionaire Shortbread from the UK , made my yours truly with a British recipe and Taylor Vintage Port from our honeymoon in Lisbon last year. The photos show the steps making the shortbread. The shortbread topped with the layer of homemade caramel and finished with melted semisweet chocolate. Annie asked that I make it after we returned home from the UK. Cheers to reliving travel memories through the food we tasted and loved.

Meal day. The menu was Mac and cheese, pulled pork, green beans and banana puddings. Thanks to Becky and Kristen we prepped meals for 100 and we served 98. We are blessed to share with our neighbors. Annie and Greg helped bag and service in the pick up lane at for our guests. Serving and loving our neighbors right now is more important than ever. Do what you can to serve. Ever day is a gift that why it is call your present. Enjoy it!

The house smells like fall spices as I make dinner and cocktails tonight. On the menu fall spice rubbed pork loin, apple cider couscous and roasted apples. The drink is made with an apple cider simple syrup. Of course I made my autumnal old fashioned. The dinner was a lovely way to celebrate school starting which is always the start of the fall season at our house. (Christmas is coming so we start all thing early here). Do you want the recipes? Some days you need to take a few hours to yourself. You can stop being the caregiver for others and be one for yourself. Take yourself to lunch. Eat alone. Wander around a store just because. Reflect, recharge and regroup. Life is crazy. We all are going through something. You are worth time to remember who you are. It's about giving yourself space to become. Love yourself enough to recognize when you need space.

After a very stressful day, I enjoy making dinner for my family. They got rosemary chicken, roasted potatoes and steamed vegetables. I am not a fan of chicken. 🐔. I made a grapefruit sidecar. I had some potatoes and microwave mac and cheese while we played uno in the deck. Lion love to share my drink. We enjoy time to decompress at the end of the day before we do the bedtime routine. LIfe is crazy but we MUST find the joy. What do you do each day to bring joy to your life?
