We want to share some bittersweet news with you. After much thought and prayer, Saturday, August 30th, was our last day of business at Linn’s Shoes. These past five years have been an incredible blessing to our family. Serving the Jerseyville community has brought us more joy, friendships, and memories than we could have ever imagined.
Life brings seasons of change, and for us, this is a step into a new one. While Linn’s Shoes has been successful, running a true “Mom and Pop” shop requires both of us to be fully present, and we have reached a point where that is no longer possible. Added to that, it has become increasingly challenging for small brick-and-mortar shoe stores to carry the brands our customer’s desire.
Because of this, we have chosen to partner with Cleary's Shoes and Boots in Wood River, IL. We have full confidence that their level of service, selection, and care will provide the same quality experience you have come to know at Linn’s Shoes. If you have repairs awaiting pickup or special orders in process, please rest assured that we will personally see to it that everything is fulfilled and arrangements are made for you to receive your items, either locally or at Cleary’s. The location at 114 S State (Linn’s Shoes) is permanently closed.
We want to give special thanks to David Linn for his help through the years, and we know he is enjoying his retirement in Peru. We would be remiss if we didn’t personally thank Brad and Wendy Tonsor for being the best landlords possible, and for the beautiful store they created for our use. Words cannot express how grateful we are for each and every one of you—for every purchase, every kind word, every smile, and even the challenges that helped us grow. You allowed us to live out a dream, and for that we will always be thankful. Most of all, we will deeply miss the relationships we’ve built with all of you. The good news is, we are still local, and we will see you around, it is Jerseyville after all!
