Today, we witnessed one of the fastest failed adoptions in the history of our rescue. Everything had appeared to go perfectly. The prospective adopter passed the home inspection, completed all required checks, and even made two lengthy visits, each involving a five-hour journey in both directions. We truly believed Molly, a beautiful English Bulldog, had finally found the right family.
A pet transport service was organized, and Molly began her trip to what we hoped would be her forever home. When she arrived, she rushed inside and, naturally, was full of excitement as she explored her new surroundings. Sadly, less than ten minutes later, the adopter decided she was unable to handle Molly's enthusiasm and asked for her to be removed.
This is now the second time Molly has been turned away, and in neither case was she to blame. We cannot emphasize enough how important it is to give a rescue dog time to adjust, relax, and feel secure in a new environment. That process often takes weeks or even months. Expecting a rescue dog to settle in and behave perfectly from the moment they arrive is simply unrealistic.
Anyway, that's enough venting from us. Here is lovely Molly, still waiting for someone who truly understands and appreciates this wonderful English Bulldog breed and is willing to give her the chance she deserves.
