So many fascinating souls wandered through my shop this past weekend. I felt like a character out of a storybook — perched there behind my shop counter trading stories + curiosities with so many lovely people.

I always feel weightless after events like the . My head is still in the clouds a bit, so I’ve decided on a whim to do 𝐚 𝟐𝟎% 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 to clear the rest of my shop out!🙌🏻

𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡 - 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝐬𝐭 (by vacation I definitely mean a sourcing trip). So the shop will be closed for a couple weeks while I gather all sorts of goods for a restock:)

Today has been wild.

I always feel two main emotions during events like this: extreme stress the week before (procrastination is a dreadful curse😅), & then a sense of pure inspiration/love for my customers/friends/job as soon as the weekend starts.

I love that I get to meet so many interesting souls in this line of work. Can’t wait to start again tomorrow:)

I have the itch to sling a backpack into the trunk of my car + travel to the wild coasts of Oregon, Washington, Canada. To pick black raspberries in the woods + swim in the dark, to thrift my way across America + record offhand moments in analog film, to write in my old journal + finish one of my 10,000 stories, to hunt for empty sea shells + strangely shaped driftwood. To donate all the plastic/synthetic things I own + float around in old jeans + linen tops + bare feet. To sit by a bonfire + lick marshmallow-covered fingertips + smell woodsmoke in my hair for days. To forge new friendships + rekindle old ones. To live a little wilder.

That nomad feeling is in a constant tug-of-war with my nostalgic love of home + the familiar. Who’s with me? And how do you balance it?
