This is what I said about 2021: โ€œHappy New Year yโ€™all!!! ๐ŸŽ† I wonโ€™t be making any glib statements about how this year because clearly I didnโ€™t see 2020 coming and nothing I said on January 1 prepared me for what was ahead ๐Ÿ˜† I do plan to keep running ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ However, if this year goes off like fireworks, God is in control!โ€ Iโ€™m just going to DITTO that for 2022 because I clearly have no idea what the road ahead holds.โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”- #2022

I had the time of my life at my first triathlon with these awesome ladies! .forester and . I had so much fun my hubs was there to cheer us on. My A Goals were Fun and Finish! โœ”๏ธ Mission Accomplished!โฃ

When we walked towards the lake for swim start I was terrified. I cried and cried on the walk there. The girls (and strangers) were so encouraging and I eventually made it to the start. When Kim pointed out how shallow it was by the buoys I figured I could try swim the shortest distance ๐Ÿ˜† โฃ

There was a guy who kept looking out for me a pointing me towards shore when it got deep. At one point I couldnโ€™t touch bottom for a long time and I almost panicked. I breast stroked frantically until I finally felt the bottom. At the end I water jogged to the end since it was so shallow ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ โฃ

Once I was done I knew I could finish the bike and I even picked off a few people. T2 went great and I knew I could finish strong. It was a hot and humid run but I picked off a few more people and finished. โฃ

I could get good at this once I learn how to swim and if I can eventually move from the mountain bike to a road bike. I think Iโ€™m not done with triathlon! Get ready!โฃ

Not too long ago, I thought that my triathlon dreams were just out of reach. I had running on lock, but I could barely swim or ride. Plus I didnโ€™t have the gear and the pandemic took away access to pools. BUT... When youโ€™re ready and you put yourself out there, everything starts to fall into place for you. A bike, a kit, pool credits, a bike rack, race fee sponsorship & a weekend getaway for a race!!! Seriously, I didnโ€™t see this one in 2021!
