So I got my mammogram today. Not fun, but something I have committed to do.
This year has been hard enough, but I literally know 3 women this year alone who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. All three had to undergo mastectomies. All three have had reconstructive surgeries.
So hard. So scary. So brave.
Now add in a pandemic. All three are survivors. 🙏🏻
Cancer numbers are frightening.
1 in 2 men, and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. Breast cancer numbers are literally staggering: 1 in 8 women vs. 1 in 20 in the 1960’s. Our genetics have not changed much, but incident rates sure have.
We are all exposed to toxins in our everyday environment, our homes, and our personal care products. The products we use everyday can actually be making us sick. A MAJOR REASON I have chosen to be a clean beauty advocate with Beautycouter. Remember, your skin is literally your largest organ and what you put on it MATTES. The average woman he uses 16 beauty products before she walks out the door… Her teenage daughter uses more!
So, please keep making good choices. Work out, eat healthy foods and drink clean water, choose products that are made safer, get your 3D mammograms, and love your sisters everywhere.
Sending so much love and strength to all those fighting and surviving including my beautiful Momma, a 20 year survivor! 🙏🏻❤️
