I've been pretty absent lately; enjoying the fruits of my labor. I suppose it's time I checked back in and introduce myself to any new followers and reacquaint myself with all those who continue to support my business. After all, fresh start today, am I right?

My name is Amanda and I am the sole proprietor of Saved in the Stitch of Time. This is a business that I have put nearly a decade into developing and growing. It all started with a thoughtful gift of a sewing machine and a little inspiration plus a passion for sustainability and individuality.

I'm a vendor at a local market two times a week where people can come and bring me their clothing to alter and mend. It's a bit of a thrill to see the excitement in people's faces when they see an actual seamstress out working. The curiosity of the children is especially comforting. Thanks to a dear friend and incredible artist, and , I have also recently been setting up in a more bustling town a couple times a month. I offer custom work and over the past couple of years have been really diving into using patterns thanks to a little nudge from . I've even drafted a couple patterns of my own. I've been fortunate to work with certain companies doing piece work so my hand has touched a piece that somebody is loving right now.

My true passion is sustainability. I love replacing a zipper in jeans even though it's a pain. I love repairing a few small holes or a rip. I especially love extending the life of a valued piece, like a grandmother's apron I just completed for or a baby's blanket. And I 💜💜💜 taking thrift store scores and giving them new life.

I get to practice patience every day which, for me, is necessary 😂 I have incredible clients who support me and express their gratitude for my gift.
