I used to think the same thing too
While working in the cannabis industry, I had the privilege of selling my wire wrapped dab tools and roach clips in shop. Through the last few years I've learned these pretty little things have more purpose!
🍃 It started when I worked at the dispensary, with an older man requesting a custom dab tool that was chunky and had more potential for a better grip. He struggled with terrible tremors and holding smaller objects in his hands but the contradiction was that cannabis also brought ease to those tremors. That's when I realized these dab tools aren't just a cute tool, they're also accessibility tools.
🎨 Another time, I vended at an event where a clay artist shared that they use similar tools to sculpt and carve their work, she uses one of mine now because "it's easier to hold"
💅🏼 More recently, I had a nail tech request a custom dab tool for her own personal use, not realizing that they're perfect for nail maintenance.
There's so much beauty in the ability to see more value in an object, who would've thought a dab tool would remind me to stay open minded and curious during the creative process 💫
