I have mixed emotions in letting you know that we have decided to sell Hangers Cleaners after nearly 20 years. What a ride this has been! Your trust in letting us handle your cleaning has meant the world to me.
Effective August 1st, Pride Cleaners will be taking over our business. There will be very little change in service. Our routes will operate on the same days with the same drivers and the only difference will be that they will be wearing Pride shirts instead of Hangers shirts! Our stores will also be operated by Pride so there will be no change at those locations either. The only real change will be the closing of our Martin City location (where Hangers did all of the cleaning). So, anyone that took their clothes to our Martin City location will need to pick up their clothes as soon as possible. In early August we will move all remaining items to the Pride Cleaners at 850 W Blue Ridge (just east of State Line) for you to pick up there. Over the last few years, we have become quite familiar with the owners of Pride and feel they were the best option to maintain the level of service you have come to expect from Hangers.
I started Hangers 20 years ago after being upset that I couldn’t find a cleaner that I liked, and we progressed from nearly going broke a few times in the early years to being one of the largest cleaners in the Kansas City area – thanks to you! Many of you stuck with us during Covid and for that I, and our employees, will be forever thankful.
I’m not yet sure what the next chapter of my business life will entail but I wanted to make sure I personally thanked you for your business over the last 20 years. Joe Runyan
