There are so many ways to show up for cats and dogs in our animal shelters—and adopting is only one of them. ❤️

You can foster. Volunteer. Donate. Purchase something from a shelter’s wish list. Sponsor an adoption fee. Share an animal’s story. Take a dog on an afternoon adventure. Spend time comforting a frightened cat. Even liking, commenting on, and sharing shelter posts can help the right person see them.

Not everyone is in a position to adopt, and that’s okay. What matters is choosing to do something.

Shelters are filled with incredible animals waiting for someone to notice them. They also have hardworking staff and volunteers doing everything possible to keep those animals healthy, comfortable, and loved.

You may not be able to save every animal—but showing up in whatever way you can could completely change the life of one. 🐾

Please support your local animal shelter. They need all of us. 💛

💔 This is Hazel. She’s only three months old and suffering from a terrible case of mange.

Thankfully, a member of the public brought Hazel to KC Pet Project, where she is now receiving the medical treatment she desperately needs.

You can see in her eyes just how miserable she feels. I can’t imagine how uncomfortable and painful her skin must be right now. She has a long road ahead of her, and getting her skin healthy again is going to take time, medication, and continued care.

I’m asking for a favor: Please consider making a donation toward Hazel’s medical expenses. Every dollar raised during the next 24 hours will go directly toward helping this sweet puppy heal. No amount is too small, and every donation makes a difference.

A huge shout-out to the amazing staff at KC Pet Project. They aren’t just providing Hazel with medical attention—they’re also surrounding her with the love, comfort, and affection she needs during this difficult time.

Hazel deserved so much better than this beginning, but together, we can help give her the healthy and happy future she deserves. I’ll share as many updates on her recovery as I can.

Every single day, when you walk up to Slinky’s kennel, he’s right there waiting—tail wagging, sitting as pretty as can be, and hoping it’s finally his turn to go for a walk. ❤️

Slinky is a happy, enthusiastic 1-year-old boy with an endless supply of wiggles and love to give. He’s playful, affectionate, and always ready to bring a little extra joy to everyone he meets.

This sweet boy is dreaming of a family who will take him on adventures, play with him, and show him what it feels like to truly belong. In return, Slinky promises plenty of smiles, tail wags, and unconditional love.

Slinky is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and completely ready to begin his new life.

Meet Moby — a handsome, gentle boy with the perfect combination of maturity and playful spirit. ❤️🐾

Moby still loves playing with toys—if it squeaks, bounces or rolls, he’s interested—but he’s equally happy settling in for cuddles and relaxing beside his people.

His previous family shared that Moby is fully housetrained and incredibly smart. He already knows several commands, including sit, down, heel, shake and come. He has also successfully lived with children and cats, making him a wonderful potential companion for a family.

During a recent Doggy Day Out, Moby enjoyed a car ride and a walk around the Nelson-Atkins lawn. He walked beautifully on a leash, listened well and gently accepted treats from a five-year-old. He noticed a squirrel but didn’t pull or attempt to chase it. His volunteer described him as a super-sweet boy who would make an amazing family companion.

Moby is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and ready for a loving family who will make his golden years the best ones yet.
