"Theres the County CBA, which is the one that matters. then theres a Crossroads CBA, and we're talking to ARTSKC... But not everything needs to be done today."-Sly James. read that again. read it out loud. Im sickened. They're saying it out loud. They don't believe that the Crossroads as it exist has any value. of any kind. This is also right after he said "not everything comes down to dollars and cents,... these teams bring us civic pride and a sense of community..." But our community doenst give us civic pride or a sense of community.

Cant believe I voted for this as***le. I almost wish he was running again so that I could smear him.

The Bluegrass Jam this month has been held over until March. The host is out of town, and we are in the process of switching the space from retail to a community gathering space. See you all in March!

It was a good run…

Following 2 and a half years of operation The Folk Store is unfortunately closing its doors due to continued low sales.

Folk Alliance International, (the 501c3 that owns and operated the store) will continue to operation its office out of the same location.
The store was an interesting experiment, but FAI plans to focus its efforts on more “mission related” community outreach activities and professional development for the music community.
As of March 1 the store space will be used exclusively for these community gatherings (lessons, jams, concerts, masterclasses, meetings)

Thanks to everyone for your support of the store during its short run.

Meanwhile… don’t miss the launch of the Kansas City Folk Festival (Sunday Feb 21st, 10-5pm, Westin Crown Center)

Sincerely,

Cody Wyoming, Store Associate
Aengus Finnan, Executive Director,
and the staff of Folk Alliance International
