I’ve seen so many beautiful personalized embroidery projects lately—and I love how people are making them their own. Isn’t it amazing how embroidery is having such a moment right now?

I pulled together a few of my own sample projects from my book, Land that I Love, to show how something simple can become really personal—just by changing the state, the colors, or the story behind it.

There are so many opportunities to make personalized gifts:
• A student heading off to college stitching their home state or school
• A Father’s Day gift tied to a favorite place or family memory (perfect for summer grilling season)
• A bridal or wedding gift celebrating where a couple met or lives
• Or a place that holds meaning for you and your family

You can stitch these onto tea towels, linen napkins, pillow cases—really anything you love using or gifting.

So excited to be spending part of the summer on the Michigan lakes again.

I’ve already packed my AnyTime Topper — my favorite lightweight layer for beach days, cool evenings, and summer adventures.

Use fabrics you love, mix textures, or repurpose vintage textiles to create something uniquely yours. I especially love this version made from a Turkish towel. Perfect for a cover up for the beach as well!

Celebrating my wonderful mom and what a wonderful Nana she is to my awesome kids!!! Just back from the H&H Show and so many people asked about Donna at the show- she has been there by my side through my 35 + years traveling to trade shows ❤️ her creative talents never cease to amaze me!!
If you visited our booth at the show you saw some of her wonderful handmade treasures! Thanks Mom!!!! I LOVE YOU TO PIECES!!

We are wearing quilt coats my mom made for one of her original businesses - selling apparel and bags made from salvaged vintage quilts ❤️ what’s old is new again!

Ready for a big day setting up our booth at !! I filmed this a couple days ago from my garage in KC. Setting up the booth ahead was a big project- if you are on the shelf floor come visit booth 1700 and see me tonight at the Sample it event!

Introducing Happy the Yo-Yo Clown Pattern! I'm heading to H + H Americas on Monday to exhibit in booth #1700. Here is a sneak peak at one of the many new products that I am introducing. This cute character was inspired Jingle Bell Jack, a vintage fabric pal featured in my keepsake book: Love You to Pieces: A Gift of Friendship. I love this project because yo-yo making is an easy and fun fabric project for all ages. The pattern features a 6 inch Christmas ornament and a 10 inch playmate. The tools featured in the video are Clover USA Yo-Yo Makers. If you own a retail store and will be attending H +H, please stop by for a visit!
