Your reminder that a planter doesn't always have to be a planter. I thrifted this oblong strainer for these Pentas flowers, and it worked SO well.
I was also looking for something that would fit inside the blue planter box. Plus, you can't go wrong with already existing drainage holes 😉 For $2.49 this was perfect and checked all the boxes ! The more you thrift, upcycle, and get creative ... The more money you have for more plants 🙌
I was also super lucky to find a variety pack with different colors. I love them, and bought them because the blooms remind me of the star shaped blossom clusters on a hoya plant. But beautiful on their own of course. And they are pollinator attractors too 🐝 🩷

My local Kaw Valley Greenhouses currently has everything half off 🙌 ❗ Chances are any close to you will be having the same sale because they are getting ready to wrap up for the season.
Mine had a ton left - flowers, tomatoes, a few other veggies, succulents, pottery and more. Inside the tent where you pay they also have some house plants and smaller size cacti and succulents. The picture doesn't show everything but I did good ! And pictures also don't show everything they had, but there was a good selection.
* The website has a store locator.
I have shopped with them for years.. and they have the best, healthiest, and most hardy plants ! Lots of unique varieties too. But hurry before it's too late !

Last Saturday was so wonderful at the Garden Faire held at Independence Uptown Market ! It was amazing to have several people come to my booth and comment that they had bought stuff from me before, how much they loved my items, how well their plants were doing from the year before, etc. Also got quite a few compliments from new customers & shoppers too. Thanks to everyone for such a great day ! 💖 I also did so good shopping from other vendors & the Independence Garden Club too 🌿 You can find me next Saturday at Creekside Parkville for an amazing Mother's Day weekend shopping event. I will have a mix of Vintage, Home decor, Crafts and Plants.

and they are always amazing & long lasting.
And at $6.99 this year it's less expensive than the last couple years, and a great bargain for the quality. I knew my yoga class was going to be canceled this morning due to the rain, so I chose to move my body in a different way .... with a lovely & leisurely walk allll around Lowe's indoor & outdoor plant section 😆 🌿 💐 I got there 10 minutes after they opened - beat the rain by a bit, plus it was less crowded, and got first crack at clearance.
Discovered a great sale too. Got these lovely Wax Begonias & Polka dot plants for only a dollar, and going back next week for Geraniums and Marigolds. As I thought of Lowe's this morning I instantly had a hunch I was going to find something good, and I did ! My hunches are never wrong. Got this stunning Epipremnum Amplissimum Variegated 💚 ( Pothos Silver streak variegated, possibly Aurea Variegata ) Plus a couple clearance babes & a Scindapsus pictus. This was a walk that cost me some money, but so worth it lol.
A few of these will be used in projects I'm bringing to the Uptown Garden Faire on the 25th 😊

I recently posted about getting some Rabbit's foot ferns, and here's what I did with one of them. I've had this idea for a while, and love how it looks in this slanted bowl I recently thrifted. It sits at an angle and is such a cool shape ! And of course I had to put a bunny in with it 🐇 I also added some natural tone rocks and gravel to match 🤎
Don't you just love the fuzzy "Rabbit's Foot" stems ?I'm bringing it with me to the Uptown Garden Faire, while trying not to keep it for myself 😆
