An amazing spot on the North Shore important to many especially a lot of friends of mine so I’m going to post this and hope that they enjoy it

A peaceful place — we haven’t been back in a while.

When was the last time you visited Kīlauea Lighthouse? It sure is more finnicky to get there now....

Locals still call it the Kilauea Lighthouse, though its official name is the Daniel K. Inouye Kīlauea Point Lighthouse. Built in 1913, it stands on a 180‑foot bluff inside the Kīlauea Point National Wildlife Refuge.

This image is from years ago. Please remember: no flying over the refuge — it’s protected habitat with active seabird nesting. The cliffs and offshore islets support native species like the red‑footed b***y, Laysan albatross, and wedge‑tailed shearwater.

The refuge is open Wednesday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (last entry 3:30). Timed reservations required. Entry is $10 for adults; kids under 16 are free. Federal passes accepted with reservation.
