I decided the week before my big trip to euro to make these cashmere and wool blends pieces; a long coat and a wool waistcoat/vest and bell bottoms. They made me sweat but kept me warm for my trip. The plaid fabric was made in England

This Frida Kahlo inspired wedding dress I made completely from scratch earlier this year. We started with a concept, a few had drawn sketches and then a mini mock up version of it on a Barbie as a visual until the design was finalized. I was so excited to do this as a few years earlier I visited the house of Frida (Casa Azul) in Mexico and so when this client asked a vintage inspired frida dress I was like Omg! Yes! Say no more!!

Another project from this year! The difference between the original Sherri hill dress before and after major alterations. This technique is called “tamboor” beading and this specific beading for this dress was originally done in India. On any other dress normal alterations are much easier to be done but when beading is involved it’s much more complicated. Watch below as I get it done!

This dress I made for my mom. There is a full gross set (1440 pieces) of rhinestones that is color matched as well on the entire dress that I apply hand. And of course a detachable train ❤️

I made my clients dream dream and this is how I did it.

First I met with my client and her family to get to know her style and also to discuss what it was exactly what she wanted, discussing the type of occasion and what were her expectations.

She was having a sweet 18 (due to Covid she had to wait two years to reschedule her 16th) so it was important to her that the dress not be so 16 and immature but more “grown up” and high fashion.

Her family mentioned that there would be a crowd of over 300 people attending, so sparkling in the spotlight and lots of volume would be the best type of dress for this occasion.
She showed me the image of model and Ms. Philippines Pia Wurtzbach wearing a Michael Cinco gown. Michael Cinco is a very well known Philippines designer that makes these gorgeous huge ball gowns and I wanted to achieve the same result with my clients dress without any type of copying his work. She said she loved this dress but rather have it in purple anyways which was her preference or her “dream dress”.
This post will explain how I made a custom made one of a kind gown for a client and the entire process. Which is not as easy as it sounds. Building a dress this large is complex and takes a lot of engineering and pre-planning to acheive this size of dress and to get it done on time! Time is so precious for these projects!! So here is the process.
