And, by learning how specific rulers work together, you can actually design your own blocks for making quilts.
March 13th class: Machine Quilting Basics
Students will learn the basics of how they can quilt projects using their home sewing machine. For this class students must bring a quilting (sometimes called darning foot) foot for class and they also need to know how to lower the feed dogs on their sewing machine.
March 20th class: Paper and Foundation Piecing Basics
Students will learn the basics of paper piecing and foundation piecing (which is how crazy quilts are made). An ‘Add a Quarter’ Ruler; which can be purchased at the shop is needed for this class, in addition to a machine in good working order.
March 27th class: What do all these stitches do?
The majority of quilters use a sewing machine that can make more than just a straight stitch or zigzag stitch. But not only have they never used these stitches; they don’t know how these stitches can be used for quilting. Students need to bring their owner’s manual for their sewing machine to class. **If you can’t locate/find the manual that came with your machine you can go online and download a manual for the vast majority of machines, regardless of the age of the machine.
