People's Linen Service Located in the heart of New Hampshire's Monadnock Region, People's Linen is a family owned and operat

The company was founded in 1925 in Rutland, Vermont and was originally known as a "wet laundry" where clothing and linens were picked up from the local community and returned washed, but un-dried. In 1940 the company moved to Keene, New Hampshire and gradually expanded operations in the region. In the 1960s People's Linen began serving the rapidly increasing hotel and restaurant business in New En

gland. Today the company has over twenty-four delivery routes providing multiple lines of towels, bed linens, table linens, uniforms and floor mats. They service more than 1,500 customers ranging from Mom and Pop stores to internationally known, multi-season resorts.

From time to time we are going to spotlight different employees in the next few months.

Today we spotlight one of our if not our longest standing employee.

Diane Earle
Diane first started at peoples in June of 1972, she had three or four years off during the 70's with the birth of her two children. She came back fulltime in June of 1980 and hasn't missed a beat since.

To say Diane has seen some changes over the years is an understatement. When talking to her she remembers starting out at Giffin street in a little brown building, which is now our main production plant with four loading bays. Diane said there was two ironers in 1972 at the Giffin street location, it now houses six.

Diane has done alot of different jobs over the years at Peoples, from working in the towel section, ironing and uniforms. A big influence in her life at People's was Alta MacQueston who was her supervisor in the uniform department.

She said the best thing about working here is the people, they all work together and it feels like one big family.
Her daughter Heide is now a second generation employee at Peoples as well.
