Job Responsibilities

Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulations.

Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled maintenance.

Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.

Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.

Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.

Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.

Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service and testing of machinery.

Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery.

Work effectively with other team members in an industrial environment.

Job Skills and Qualifications

Required:

Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience
Driver’s license, forklift experience
Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended amount of time
Ability to act competently in emergencies
Organized and detail-oriented

Preferred:

Experience with textile machinery
Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical or engineering specialties

The Textile Department Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks in the textile production department to produce high-quality products on-time. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Full training will be provided for all equipment operation, inspection methods, quality assurance, and best practices for safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow material specifications, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment

• Follow established setup and operation instructions, as well as customer-specified requirements

• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality material is produced with minimized downtime and scrap

• Inspect material and ensure that products meet all established requirements

• Accurately package, label, and store finished materials. Handle materials that may weigh up to 50 pounds

• Communicate with team members regarding material quality, equipment maintenance, and schedule updates

• Work alongside team members to ensure customer satisfaction, high quality products, and workplace safety

Starting at $15.00 an hour
