Over the last two days, my business has been nonsensically attacked by a “troll” account.
This person got in a heated argument of approximately 12 comments back and forth with a Tri-Cities Rottweiler Instagram account. Being as I have a Rottweiler and live in Kennewick, my dog and I have been featured on their page one time, but I am not the owner of the account. The argument that ensued among them was referring to people with disabilities and had racial slurs. I have since asked for our picture to be removed.
These comments were 💯 percent wrong, I do not support that kind of hate, and I definitely would not have wasted my own peace on getting into a heated argument on Instagram.
This upset person then took a spiraled deep dive into the posters account, found a picture of me, discovered my business page, somehow came to the conclusion that the poster was my husband, took the time to create a fake Facebook account, and started harassing this business account. This person said that they’ve bought clothes from us, they’ve helped post flyers, etc and that they would not only not support us but blast my business on Twitter, Tik-Tok, and the news. Not only have I never created flyers for one, but my fiancé has helped at every event that I’ve had and you’d know that he doesn’t look anything like the guy in the Rottweiler page. After explaining to this person that they were mistaken, they continued to harass this page and even threaten our colleagues.
Once again, I do not support hate speech in any form, but two wrongs do not make a right. Reagan’s Closet has donated approximately 40 garbage bags of clothes to children and mothers in need within this past year. Trying to hurt my business hurts more than me. If that person truly has bought clothes from me, then please, don’t come back. Reagan’s Closet and the vendors that I have pop-ups with deserve a safe space to work and support local businesses.
