Ladies and gentleman, Uncle Jenn's Friend, Kate...my fave person in Kerrville with her creative ideas and endless ambition for the families in the hill country. I love the ease she provides to keep life full of experiences and memories for families with little ones!
At 12,000+ followers, the introduction I always meant to get around to has become comically overdue. 😂
I hate About Me posts and figured I would sprinkle pieces of myself in along the way. Then KFG grew so fast that I blew right past “Hi, I’m Kate” and went directly to “Here’s everything happening this weekend, three deadlines we’re about to miss, and somewhere to take your kids when it is 104 degrees.”
I would rather research every family event within a 100-mile radius than write an About Me post, which probably tells you more about me than a list of facts ever could.
But KFG was never meant to be faceless. There is a real person here: a local mom with opinions, standards, and a whole lot of intention behind this page.
So, hi. I’m Kate. 👋
Kerrville is home. I left, traveled all over, and eventually came back to raise my family. I’m a mom of two, a documenter by nature, a longtime content creator, and such a K-town hype girl that my college friends called me the Leslie Knope of Kerrville. I probably just dated myself, so if you’re a young one, Google her & watch an episode. I highly recommend the show.
I created KFG to be the go-to parent hub for Kerrville families: the place that helps you find the thing, remember the deadline, discover the resource, know what is worth the drive, and stop piecing family life together from 26 open tabs.
It is not a news source, or everything single thing happening in Kerrville. It is intentionally focused on local families in the grind of life. You can expect useful roundrups, a living calendar, practical guides, local resources, deals, recommendations, and honest reviews on the way.
I built KFG to become a sustainable business that supports my family. Most of what I share will stay free, while affordable guides and thoughtful partnerships make that possible. If KFG has lightened your load, supporting those guides when they fit your family helps me keep building it while still being the mama I want to be. If you are a family focused business that aligns with my values, let's chat.
Even liking, commenting, and sharing helps more than you realize. It also tells Facebook you actually want to see my stuff, so you don’t miss a thing!
Twelve thousand people since Mother’s Day is beyond anything I expected so fast. And one heck of a proof of concept that Kerrville needs this. I don't take that lightly and promise to be intentional in everything I do here. Thank you for every share, tag, message, and “I never would have known about this without you.”
If you’re new, welcome. If you’ve been here from the beginning, thank you. I truly appreciate every single one of you for being here.
