Hi friends! I've wanted to share this for awhile, but gosh I'm so busy with the garden and canning all the goodness. When you buy my jams, you can feel safe knowing that I am a strict, safe canner. I don't use rebel recipes, only safe, tested recipes from Ball. I don't judge any rebel canners out there, but I could never in good conscious sell something that could make you or your loved ones sick. I am a dedicated food preserver who is pretty hyper about food safety and cleanliness. I have been canning for 15 years and I have learned SO much. Something you should be sure of when accepting a gift of home preserved food is how it was prepared. The problem is that the normal person really can't tell the difference between a safe recipe and a potentially harmful one. If you are a novice canner, feel free to message me the recipe you want to prepare and I will gladly let you know if its safe. Red flags for example when following a recipe are vague instructions, like fill jars almost all the way. You actually have to have a scientific amount of space in each jar for the long term safety of the jar. Another one is if you are making jam and the recipe says you can use pint jars. That's a big no, because our home canning equipment can't get hot enough to kill the bacteria in a big jar. All jams have to be either 8 or 4 oz jars. ❤️. So yes, no judgment just love from your canning nerd!! And thank you for trusting me and buying my jams!!!!
