OUR STORY:
We were thrilled to find the historic Norman General Store property available when looking for a new place to call home. In September 2016, we left behind the heat and humidity of Florida and moved to the four season weather of Wisconsin. (Though sometimes winter will come before fall or after spring?!)
Gary and I both love antiques and have enjoyed making this historic Victorian hous
e and store our new home. His grandparents ran the general store in the farming community of Fort Ogden, Florida. The tradition has continued with the reopening of this store, located in the Norman, Wisconsin farming community, in June 2018. The Antler Shed, Sap Happy and B & E's Trees our some of our Wisconsin vendors. We are proud to offer many products that have been made in Wisconsin...local jams and jellies, maple syrups, a variety of baking mixes and spices, and soaps. Unique Edison-style lighting fixtures, vintage china, kitchen wares, glasswares and other vintage odds and ends make for a fun shopping experience. Like an old-fashioned general store, we wanted to include quilt fabrics as part of our “dry goods” and our proud to offer quilt fabric from Blank, StudioE, Henry Glass, and Free Spirit. What started out as a small selection of blender fabric has now become a little quilt fabric shop inside our store. We also have Quilters Dream batting and a selection of sewing notions and craft supplies. Please stop in and enjoy the historical ambience of the Norman General Store, where you may find something old, something new or something uniquely made for you.
