For first dives.
For boat days and fishing trips.
For the wildlife encounters we'll never forget.
For always being there when we need to recharge.

This World Ocean Day, we're grateful for everything the ocean gives us - adventure, perspective, community, and memories that last a lifetime. ๐Ÿ’™

Because life is short, and the ocean is big.

Thereโ€™s always another reef to explore, another dive boat to jump on, and another world waiting below the surface!

If you could dive anywhere tomorrow, where would you go? ๐Ÿ‘‡

The ocean gives us a lot. Days like today are a good reminder to give something back. ๐Ÿ’™

Reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor, but support nearly 25% of ๐™–๐™ก๐™ก marine life.

They protect coastlines, sustain fisheries, and create the underwater ecosystems we love to explore - yet reefs around the world are facing increasing threats from warming oceans, pollution, and habitat loss.

Every small choice matters, from joining restoration efforts to simply being a responsible diver!

One island chain, six legendary wrecks! โš“
Have you dove one (or all)?

๐Ÿ“ Key Largo โ€” USS Spiegel Grove
A 510-foot Navy landing ship intentionally sunk in 2002, now one of the most iconic wreck dives in the world.

๐Ÿ“ Key Largo โ€” USCGC Duane
This former Coast Guard cutter is known for massive schools of fish, strong currents, and unforgettable deep dives.

๐Ÿ“ Key Largo โ€” Benwood
Not every wreck was sunk intentionally ๐Ÿ‘€ The Benwood collided with another ship in 1942 and now rests in shallow water, making it one of the Keysโ€™ most accessible wreck dives.

๐Ÿ“ Islamorada โ€” Eagle
Sunk in 1985, this 287-foot freighter later split in two during a hurricane - creating dramatic swim-throughs and thriving marine habitat.

๐Ÿ“ Marathon โ€” Thunderbolt
Once used for underwater cable and research work, this 188-foot vessel was intentionally sunk in 1986 and is now home to barracuda, grouper, and colorful sponge growth.

๐Ÿ“ Key West โ€” USS Vandenberg
A former military missile tracking ship sunk in 2009. At 523 feet long, itโ€™s one of the largest artificial reefs in the world - and one of our favorites!

The science behind your favorite color! ๐ŸŒŠ

That unreal Caribbean blue isnโ€™t just luck - itโ€™s a combination of sunlight, shallow water, ocean circulation, and even the composition of the sand.

Thereโ€™s a lot going on beneath the surface that gives tropical water its signature color!

๐Ÿ‘‰ ๐—™๐˜‚๐—ป ๐—ณ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜: Florida has over 3,750 artificial reef deployments along its coastline!

In the Florida Keys, artificial reefs like the USS Spiegel Grove and USS Vandenberg (one of our faves!) have become major destinations for divers.

But artificial reefs do more than create incredible dive sites - they also help take pressure off natural reefs by spreading out dive activity, fishing, and boat traffic, giving nearby ecosystems more room to recover.

Itโ€™s a reminder that ocean conservation and recreation can work together - as long as we dive responsibly! ๐Ÿคฟ

Diving the Florida Keys? Take it a step further ๐Ÿ‘‡

There are some incredible organizations doing hands-on work - and many of them offer ways for divers to help!

๐Ÿ“ Key Largo: Coral Restoration Foundation
๐Ÿ“ Islamorada: I.CARE
๐Ÿ“ Lower Keys: Reef Renewal USA, Inc. , Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium , Plant a Million Corals Foundation , Captain Hook's Marina & Dive Center
๐Ÿ“ Key West: Southpoint Divers , Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Foundation

From coral nurseries to outplanting dives, this is a good place to start making a difference!
