Nothing quite like a dramatic wedding gown 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

I was honored to work on this couture-level wedding ball gown and it has been a favorite of mine! This bride came in needing hemming on all 7 layers, a french bustle for the train so she can do her first dance & custom sleeves! We were able to use the fabric that was taken from the bottom hem and use it for these swag sleeves that will drape beautifully on her arms!

Of course this is pre-steaming so excuse the wrinkles from general handling.

This gown will be picked up today and will be very memorable for AW Studio & Bridal!

We’ve recently had an influx of followers and I wanted to get in to some history, a reintroduction of sorts!

As some may not know, I started out as a fashion brand! I started sewing in 2016 as a profession & side job but began showcasing on fashion runways in 2022 after interning with a bridal designer by the name of Material Concepts in 2018. From there, I began to audition for fashion runways under my brand name - Alynwonderland (Allen-wonderland).

I’ve been honored to have been named Ones To Watch of NYFW ‘23 as well as an Interform Emerge Designer-In-Residence ‘23. I’ve ran and trained shows at Bacone College as well as Haskell Indian Nations University. It has been an honor to be part of the programs and shows that I’ve been selected for and I’ve had the time of my life bringing along friends and even introducing the Native community into the fashion community! I’ve also been featured in Native Max Magazine, Elle Magazine Bulgaria & Glamour!

I don’t speak much about my fashion journey as I’ve put it mostly behind me to focus on my business in the bridal & tailoring industry but I hold it dear to my heart!

As I sift through my archived pieces, I plan to have an event where I can sell my original pieces that are left. Once I sell a few, I usually archive the rest for safe keeping until I feel it is time to release them. Now with the new location, we’re working on my retail space and I would love to welcome some of my pieces!

I plan to be back in fashion again & I am currently planning some projects. My social media pages will be back and I can’t wait to see what this next chapter of Alynwonderland will be! ❤️

The sweetest bridal client Taylor picked up her gown and got married over the weekend! 🌹it was a pleasure hosting both her and her mother along the process! I would like to send congratulations to her & her family!

Taylor wanted a traditional style of gown that had these key features: a basque waist, chantilly lace, sweetheart neckline, A-line, boning structure corset & we even created a matching cathedral-length veil using the same lace as her gown! 💕

My mission, as a wedding gown designer/maker, is to bring more access to custom gowns as a whole. I work with budgets & timelines of all sorts! We go through samples of fabrics and silhouettes. It is my duty to help create your perfect gown for your perfect day ❤️

We hope everyone had a beautiful Mother’s Day 💕💐

To start this week off, we wanted to thank everyone for their patience last week as we were battling sickness in our household! Looking forward to seeing everyone this week ☺️☺️

On another note, here is my beautiful client Rachel wearing a ribbon suit that she entrusted me with! I take great pride in being a Native-owned business/designer and get such a joy out of doing ribbon work. Ribbon work is not just exclusive to ribbon skirts, suits have become more popularized in the past few years!

I truly appreciate when you all trust me to create something with your vision in mind, it allows me to do what I love while also assisting you with your desired look for any occasion!

These shorts came in with the printed border misaligned just above the hem, so we fixed that! Now these girls are gonna be sharp & ready to play ball! 🥎🎀

One of the highlights of getting to see so many wedding gowns come through are the different styles of gowns! And we honor all of them 🌹

This bride came in and needed the train to be taken up as well as adjusting her gown to more of an A-line silhouette as well as hemming in the front. It looked so great & the big difference comes from small fixes here and there! This beautiful gown went home with its owner today & we couldn’t be more happy to help!

From small fixes to large restructures, it can be done. Hemming, taking in, letting out up to 1 size, adding fabric, shortening a train, custom additions and anything that we can look at together!

As a proud Cherokee-owned business, I pride myself in keeping tradition alive in a way that contributes to traditional clothing!

I started out as just a ribbon skirt & jingle dress maker & it grew to be a full time business over the course of 10 years! I’ve been blessed to be able to create traditional wear for tribal members of all ages & sizes! So now I will be opening up my Cherokee National Holiday commissions! What is that exactly?

I take orders for those who are needing regalia or traditional wear for the Cherokee National Holiday in late August/early September. Every year I have a list going for orders to be completed early on or before that holiday weekend. I always look forward to opening commissions in late May but this year I am starting early to be able to fit everyone in my schedule from my recent audience growth! I had to turn down some folks last year as I had too many orders for a short amount of time. But were starting early this year 😊

Finishing out some tailoring!

I wanted to share my most spoken statements when clients come in to the studio:

“This is great that you’re so young and doing tailoring!” (I’m 34 but go on😊😊)

“This trade is a dying trade”

“I used to go to —— but they aged out & retired”

“It’s very hard to find a suit tailor around here”

“How interesting that a woman is doing the tailoring!”

“It’s hard to find anybody who does tailoring anymore”

I’m so happy to hear these things and know that I’m actually making some kind of impact, a continuance of a trade that some people are worried may die out. Not on my watch!
