We’ve got some exciting news to share! We’ve got several projects coming up and would love for you to join us!

Alynwonderland (Allen-wonderland) has been my fashion brand since 2018 with showcasing to runways and fashion weeks. If you’re new here, this is where it all started!

We have not formally showcased a collection since 2025 and that’s all about to change!

Hello my friends! Your local seamstress here! ❤️

It’s been awhile since I have posted and this summer has definitely been a busy one for sure! I would like to introduce myself to new followers as well as touch base with my regulars!

My name is Alyssa Henson-Brackett and I am the owner of AW Studio & Bridal! I am local to Tahlequah and grew up in the Briggs area! I’ve been a longtime resident of Cherokee County as well as growing up in Adair County!

In my spare time, I loooove spending time with my kids and my supportive husband that you may see around the shop doing my endless remodeling (gotta get it just perfect! ☺️). I recently moved to the Keys area and I’ve been met with so many kind people in the community! I did own a shop in Tahlequah but received so much support that I outgrew my little room and had to move into a 2 story to accommodate my beloved clients with big gowns ❤️

I am formally trained by a suit maker and a gown designer out of Fayetteville, AR in 2018 and have interned at several Fashion Weeks as well as been a featured designer also! I’ve traveled to New York & Denver to participate in prominent fashion shows in my career as the designer of Alynwonderland, a conceptual fashion brand. I’ve been a Designer-In-Residence at Interform and have visited many schools to speak on what it means to be an Indigenous artist as well as taught sewing classes.

I am a Tsalagi (Cherokee) girl and I am a member of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians! I am paint clan & reside from the Chewey community. I am a descendant of Oce Hogshooter of the Keetoowah Nighthawks.

I’m very happy to be doing what I love and truly being part of my client’s big day, however little impact it may be! I take my career serious and that means I take my clients serious. I’m truly invested in the quality of my work and hope to always send everyone out of the door completely satisfied with their garments fitted to perfection! That’s what I truly aim for because I grew up in a family that teaches integrity.

People often ask me what I do for fun and I do exactly this! I sew! ☺️

I am so grateful for all of the support that I have received while being here and we hope to have the studio completed very soon with all of the plans that we have!

I had the honor of reworking this beautiful, timeless vintage gown that this bride brought in! It was her mother’s dress 🥲 I’m not crying, you are! It is special orders like these that make up some of our most cherished projects & memories at AW Studio & Bridal!

The bride wanted the halter turned into a strapless neckline while keeping the lace details. She also wanted it to be a bit longer so we created this gorgeous frilly hem that blends in with the rest of her gown. I carefully picked out the aging lace, delicately brush-cleaned it to renew it & voila!

You asked, we are providing! ❤️

This summer, we’re bringing people together through sewing, creativity, and cultural connection. The Native Summer Sewing Series (say that 5 times fast😂) is a space to learn new skills, share knowledge, and create alongside community members of all experience levels.

This series includes a total of 5 classes (courses) and is taught in a structure that starts with beginner classes and levels up to advanced classes. There is absolutely something for everyone! Teachings will include ribbons skirts, ribbon pants (highly requested), ribbon shirts, shawl making and Cherokee tear dresses.

You may sign up for one class, two classes or even all of them! Each class is held on a Saturday with the exception of the Cherokee Tear Dress class which will be held for 5 days nightly as this is a more challenging and time consuming course.

Supplies needed is listed below each ticket description as well as emails will be sent for supply lists! Please bring your sewing machine & basic sewing tools. This also encourages you to learn on your own machine for continuous projects at home! 💕

Participants will be required to bring their own fabrics & I highly recommend Lawley House Antiques for some of the best selections of Native & non-Native fabrics!

This is a ticketed event which acts as class fees. Our goal is to share traditional Native arts in a hands-on learning environment. Class fees help cover instruction, preparation, facility costs, and supplies, making it possible to continue offering these opportunities to the community.

*Please note that classes will be held on the 2nd floor of the studio, so participants will need to be comfortable using stairs.

Classes will be held at our studio in Keys, Ok (address is listed as Park Hill, Ok). If you have not visited the studio yet, it is located right beside Big Red Restaurant in Keys in the black and white business building and right next to Hair Revival.

Nothing quite like a dramatic wedding gown 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

I was honored to work on this couture-level wedding ball gown and it has been a favorite of mine! This bride came in needing hemming on all 7 layers, a french bustle for the train so she can do her first dance & custom sleeves! We were able to use the fabric that was taken from the bottom hem and use it for these swag sleeves that will drape beautifully on her arms!

Of course this is pre-steaming so excuse the wrinkles from general handling.

This gown will be picked up today and will be very memorable for AW Studio & Bridal!

We’ve recently had an influx of followers and I wanted to get in to some history, a reintroduction of sorts!

As some may not know, I started out as a fashion brand! I started sewing in 2016 as a profession & side job but began showcasing on fashion runways in 2022 after interning with a bridal designer by the name of Material Concepts in 2018. From there, I began to audition for fashion runways under my brand name - Alynwonderland (Allen-wonderland).

I’ve ran and trained shows at Bacone College as well as Haskell Indian Nations University. It has been an honor to be part of the programs and shows that I’ve been selected for and I’ve had the time of my life bringing along friends and even introducing the Native community into the fashion community! I’ve also been featured in Native Max Magazine, Elle Magazine Bulgaria & Glamour!

I don’t speak much about my fashion journey as I’ve put it mostly behind me to focus on my business in the bridal & tailoring industry but I hold it dear to my heart!

As I sift through my archived pieces, I plan to have an event where I can sell my original pieces that are left. Once I sell a few, I usually archive the rest for safe keeping until I feel it is time to release them. Now with the new location, we’re working on my retail space and I would love to welcome some of my pieces!

I plan to be back in fashion again & I am currently planning some projects. My social media pages will be back and I can’t wait to see what this next chapter of Alynwonderland will be! ❤️
