Aloha 🌸 It’s been a minute!
First, let me thank you all for following our tiny company, Kahele Maui over the years. The fact that I am able to sew bags and headwraps and make a living on Maui is because of you! New and old customer, friends and family, I owe you a huge MAHALO!!
This past year has brought amazing changes to our personal life and business. Some blessings, some tragedy, but we all do our part and step into new roles where needed. 🌈
moved from Kihei to Pukalani
lost a family member
started a new company (more on that later)
took time to reimagine everything
found new inspiration in Kahele Maui

If you have stopped by our Kihei workshop studio in the past 6 months, we were probably not there. If you looked in the window you probably thought “what a mess!” That’s what happens when I’m overwhelmed with fabric and all the bag making parts. If you know me and have been around as we grew, you know that I love fabrics and what I do is more personal than it should be 🫣 In my eyes, there is an art to putting together bag collections. But once I got really busy making, making, making it was hard to step back and see the vision. In 2020, I left the Four Seasons where I worked for 10 years (the last 10 of my 20+year career as a bartender) Kahele Maui became my sole income and as you know, Maui is expensive!! Something happened when I started to rely on sewing for our livelihood, the creativity and vision started to fade. I was sewing bags but lost sight of the big picture. The passion wasn’t there. I was filling orders but not my shop. And I missed the magic I felt when a curated collection of my creations were hanging on the walls as inspiration as I worked. I think I’m more of an artist than a sales woman.
Our new company has allowed me to step back and see the big picture. I love fabric, I love bags, I love sewing, I love the experience as a whole.
So, long story short, Kahele Maui is reintroducing herself to you this year!!

☀️We will be hosting 2 Pop Ups per month at our studio along with other artist heart centered companies, (even a few other bag companies, because we loved too)

Friends and family from Oahu and the mainland have been wanting to donate and asking the best way to do it. Here is a list of what shelters are asking for. If you would like to directly help some one in immediate need, I ask that you order a few things from this list on Amazon and send them to me and I will get them to the shelters. Our store shelves are dwindling.

Heartbroken for Lahaina 💔

Front Street will never be the same.
My heart goes out to the families that lost everything. Businesses that lost everything. The thousands of workers who lost their jobs and livelihood. And the history of Lahaina that is just that now. History.

It’s been a busy month for us here at Kahele Maui! We stopped at our favorite south side beach for sunset and to refuel and reflect on some BIG changes in the coming months. Mainly, switching gears and making our products more available to you! This means less outdoor markets and more inventory online. As a maker of specialty items, the demand is greater than the inventory, which I am honored to have. (Mahalo to YOU for that!!) 🌸 But these beautiful pieces take time and as my line grows, I am struggling to keep up with the hussle of it all. I’m very excited to switch gears and have the opportunity to show up for you in a better way 🩵

Back on Maui after a trip to Oahu for a Mom’s Day sale Kahala Mall a special thanks to Shreela 33 Butterflies for the prime table space fronting her boutique🦋 my beautiful helper Makena who I couldn’t have done it without and to old friends and ohana that made the trip to see us 🥰 I can’t wait to go back!
