🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Donna! 🌟

Sometimes, the universe sends you a sign—literally! In 2018, while running errands in King of Prussia, Donna wandered into Marian's Attic for the first time. On her way to the dressing room, she spotted a sign explaining the Laurel House mission and our need for volunteers. She knew right then that she had found her purpose, sat down with our team, and got on the schedule that very day. 🏠✨

Donna didn't just bring her time to Marian's Attic: she brought her incredible creative talent. As a hobbyist who repurposes jewelry, Donna saw an opportunity to turn donated items into something beautiful and impactful. This led to the birth of "RePurposed for a Purpose." The entirety of jewelry sales go directly to Laurel House.

Every other Tuesday afternoon, you can find Donna at the shop, but her impact is felt every day. Each of her unique, handmade pieces comes with a tag explaining the mission, making them a favorite for local gift-givers. Just recently, a customer shared that she bought several pieces as meaningful Christmas gifts because she loved both the craftsmanship and the cause it supports. 🎨💎

For Donna, the best part of volunteering is the wonderful people she works with and the unexpected connections she makes with customers, all while contributing to a cause that changes lives.

Donna, thank you for your vision, your creativity, and your heart. You truly define what it means to volunteer with purpose!

Last week was volunteer appreciation week! To say we have the best crew of volunteers is an understatement! It’s been a humbling experience to hang around with people who have been volunteering here for almost 30 years! I’ve never had the same job for that long! That’s crazy! We celebrate you last week, today and tomorrow! Thank you so much for your loyalty to making a difference! ❤️💐❤️

A couple of times a year we get a call from Shannon at Beauty on Budget Sale asking us if we would like to pick up donations after their sale....very generous and thoughtful, great stuff that we love to sell! This year someone shared their DV experience with Shannon and her first instinct was to help... but how?....she decided to ask people when they checked out to donate a dollar and she would match it. They raised $1257 at the register and BOB matched it! A $2514 donation to Laurel House! Shannon, Thank you! You and your family are amazing! her 2 boys and daughter rush to help us when we are loading the car..❤️
