Interesting read....Something for âChristiansâ to ponder on. Respectfully submittedâŠ
Great leaders are tactful.
âA fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back.â
Proverbs 29:1
Good leaders are willing to take advice.
âWhere there is no guidance the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory.â
Proverbs 11:14
Leaders have a âword of honorâ.
âSimply let your âYesâ be âYes,â and your âNo,â âNoâ; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.â
Matthew 5:37
Word of honor equates to fairness when leading people. Good leaders know the impact of the decisions they make so when it comes to decision making, they have to think hard and be firm.
Good leaders are careful of their actions.
âTreat others the same way you want them to treat you.â
Luke 6:31
Leaders are wary of their actions, for they know the influence they have over people. Positive actions are contagious, but so are negative ones. If leaders act with integrity, then their subordinates will follow.
Leaders are patient with everyone regardless of their capabilities.
âAnd we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.â
1 Thessalonians 5:14
Leaders are passionate about lifting people up in their organization. They realise the importance of getting everyone on board the same vision so they work to achieve the same goal.
Leaders are careful about what they say.
âWhoever guards his mouth and tongue, Keeps his soul from troubles.â
Proverbs 21:23
Unity is a common goal both leaders and followers should strive for.
âBehold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!â
Psalms 133:1
When an organisation is united towards one goal, all good things will follow. A leaderâs purpose is just that: to unify their subordinates so that goals can be achieved.
Fairness is a leaderâs moral obligation.
âIf a king judges the poor with truth, His throne will be established forever.â
Proverbs 29:14
A leaderâs credibility is based on how he upholds truth and fairness over his organisation. This verse teaches us that honest and truthful leaders are appreciated and their legacy will be known long after their reign.
Leadership and self-discipline go hand-in-hand
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.â1 Timothy 4:8
A leader isnât defined by their age
Donât let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.â1 Timothy 4:12
From the overflow of their hearts, leaders speak
The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom,
and their tongues speak what is just.
The law of their God is in their hearts;
their feet do not slip.âPsalm 37:30â31
Jesus tells us that the things that come out of someoneâs mouth originate in their heart. (Matt. 15:18) A leader needs to pay attention to the things they say because their words are an indicator of their spiritual condition.
A good leaderâs words will bring light and life.
A leaderâs integrity comes from within
And David shepherded them with integrity of heart;
with skillful hands he led them.âPsalm 78:72
our words are a strong indicator of our heartâs condition. Itâs important that we pay attention to it because strong leadership will come from the integrity of our hearts.
Leaders recognize their limitations
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,
declares the Lord.
As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.âIsaiah 55:8â9
Face itâyouâre fallible. You donât have all the answers, even if everyone thinks you do. Another reason we need to be investing in our spiritual sensitivity is because as soon as we start trusting in their own wisdom, weâre sunk.
You will know them by their fruit. Letâs call Apple, apples and oranges, oranges.
