The shop will be CLOSED this weekend and will reopen on Saturday, January 3rd.

It’s officially December so it’s time to get into the holiday spirit!

Join us this Saturday for a favorite annual small-town tradition, the KITTERY HOLIDAY PARADE.

SATURDAY,
December 6th

*12-2pm: Gnome Hat Making + Float Decoration

*3pm: Walk in the parade

This year’s official theme is “Snow place like home” so we are going to gather up all our favorite gnomes for a snowy day adventure.

Dress in your winter weather best and then gather to make a gnome hat and help us decorate our forest float. Then we’ll head over to Traip Academy to kick off the holiday season in

Our monthly storytime with Valerie will feature a special visit with my favorite feathered friend! Valerie will kick things off with a story and then the children will get a chance to meet Lucy, the Eastern Screech Owl. This pint-sized owl packs some big personality and her visits to are always filled with wonder.

We’ll be at the Center for Wildlife in Cape Needicj for their annual Halloween celebration. This is a favorite tradition for my family and we can’t wait to share some ghost stories and some crafts with all your little ghouls!

Join us with special guest for a SENSORY STORYTIME!

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th at 10am

Our friend Tara has created so much magic during her visits with wonderful stories and the chance for children to make their very own sensory play dough set.

This week we’ll celebrate the start of fall with “Oak The Littlest Leaf Girl” alongside Forest themed sensory kits!

We are asking for a $5 materials fee and it’s helpful to RSVP in advance so we can ensure we have enough materials for everyone.

The temps are dropping, summer is officially coming to a close, and that means spooky season is here!!

We are thrilled to be accepting gently used costumes for our first ever COSTUME SWAP!

Halloween is tons of fun but can be pretty scary for the environment. So many 1 time wear outfits and accessories that sometimes sadly go to the landfill after the tricks and treats are over.

Selecting a gently used costume or giving one of your old costumes a second life helps to lessen the impact of this beloved tradition!

Bring in your gently used costumes and accessories now until October 2nd. We’ll gather them up and put them into our consignment system so you can receive store credit for any costume that finds a new home!

Then join us on Sunday, October 5th at 10am for a Halloween themed storytime followed by the costume swap where you can browse a selection of gently used costumes and accessories.

It’s time!!!

Join us this Saturday, September 20th for a day of surf, community, and craft. This is one of our favorite events of the year with fun for the whole family. Our friends welcome in the best community of artists, craftspeople, activists, educators, and (of course) surfers!

This year we’ll be joined by our friend .rebell of to bring you crafting for the kiddos! We’ll have crafting stations setup to accommodate a wide range of ages alongside our sensory sand table.

Come on by, make a necklace, build a mini skateboard deck, and get out a little frustration with some flower pounding!

Tickets are available online and we’ll be setup all day. See you by the beach!

It’s the official first day of school for our family and that means LOTS of schedule changes are happening all around us.

We are tightening up our shop hours to give our busy minds a break. Come see us Thursday - Sunday in to hunt for fall layers, new books, and little gifts to celebrate all the adventures to come in the season ahead!

FALL SHOP HOURS:
Thursdays: 11-4:30
Fridays + Saturdays: 11-6
Sundays: 10-2 (Storytime starts at 10!)

We’ll be open a little later Friday and Saturday to see if that feels good for us, but send us a message if you’re missing us at another time and we’ll adjust!

Our friend Valerie will be reading “Ancient Nights” by David Alvarez. After the story she’ll be treating us to a special visit with Fern!

Fern is a beautiful and gentle Barred Owl that has been living at the center since 2018. We’ve been lucky enough to welcome her to storytime before and it’s always a treat to have her calming presence up close with the children.

These incredible monthly storytime visits from Center for Wildlife are just one of the many ways the team gets out into the community to provide education, outreach, and support. As always, this event is FREE and open to all, but we do encourage you to make a donation to to contribute to the work they do for our local wildlife!
