Happy Friday, foxy ladies! I placed an order for green watermelon-y leather and I modified the Wanderess backpack design a little bit which is going to get started this weekend. But in the meantime, I wanted to work on an idea I’ve been toying with.

This is the Foxy clutch design: roughly 8 inches long, 4 to 5 inches tall, and 1.5 to 2 inches deep, a cozy zipper pocket and multiple card slots. Not too big to hold, but carries everything you need for a night out. The fun side is that the cheeky tongue acts as the latch to hold the flap in place while closed.

Oh my gosh! I’m so excited to finally get to share this with you guys!!!

First off, I have the pleasure of making a new backpack for a dear friend to surprise his wife with and I’m so excited to be able to help him. It will be a sturdy professional bag with a laptop pocket, padded straps, and a drawstring closure with a top flap.

In my spare time before diving into that project, I’ve been working on the mock-ups for the two bags, the Olivia tote and the Juicy Sweet wristlet clutch, for the better part of two or three weeks now and I’ve finally got them done!

The Olivia tote will be coming in at 10 inches tall by about 4 inches deep and 15 inches wide with a zippered pocket on the inside and a 12 inch drop length. The Juicy Sweet wristlet will be 6.75 inches long by 5.5 inches tall by 1.5 inches deep with a small zippered ' pocket inside and two card slots on the flap.

I realized today I haven’t shared any of my new concepts that I’ve been working on!

I’m really excited about both of these bags and I hope to be moving into the cutting and sewing for them in this next week.

I was out one day about a month ago and the idea of a clutch in the style of a slice of watermelon came to me and I just loved it instantly.

Then there’s the Olivia tote that has just sucked up so much of my excitement and energy, I am ready to get into this one for you guys.

This Is Me

When I started Olivia Fox, I did it because I love creating things, watching it go from the raw materials to a completed, beautiful thing. I also wanted to make my wife a nice thing to wear and use every day, which she does!

I wanted to make handbags that challenge the supremacy of the established luxury brands, but I foolishly tried to mimic their style instead of embracing my own. You can’t challenge the establishment by doing the same things they’re doing, you end up just being more of the same. And I’m just not that prim and proper, sophisticated, high society kind of gal it takes to do that. I’m not even a woman: I’m a husband and father. I served honorably in the U.S. Marines, I try to keep things light and fun, and I don’t take life too seriously.

I tried to wrap my mind around the luxury industry way of thinking, but it just doesn’t work for me. Life, and fashion, can’t be so serious that you don’t have fun along the way, too.

And on that note, Olivia Fox is going to go in a different direction. I will continue to strive to make gorgeous, stylish designs that help bring out your unique style. But this time, I’m going to make it fun and exciting and a little whimsical.

Life is too short to be so serious. I hope you join me on this adventure we call fashion.

Guess who’s back!

It’s been almost 6 months since I went on holiday. I was surprised just now as I was counting the months on my fingers because the time has flown by, and while I have been itching to get back to it for months, I really needed the time away for my minds sake.

Sometimes you’re able to step back from things and give your mind a break. Sometimes life doesn’t give you any chances. Always. ALWAYS. Always reach out to friends or family or anyone for support. THERE IS NO SHAME IN ASKING FOR SUPPORT, especially when your health is on the line. Let me say that again.

THERE IS NO SHAME IN ASKING FOR SUPPORT, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR HEALTH IS ON THE LINE.

F**k, if you can’t find anyone to talk to or get support from, hit me up and I’ll be there for you. You are never truly alone, humanity is more kind that the media makes it out to be.

I’ve dealt with a lot in the last 6 months and it’s been so hard. My soul was exhausted from the pain and stress and anxiety. It took a lot of work, owning my wrongs, and hoping this isn’t the end of things. Thankfully every storm ends eventually. Sometimes the floods strip away most of who you were or what you had, but they do end eventually and you can grow and thrive again.
I’m back to grow and thrive again.

It's not easy to approach this topic, but I think it is the best course of action right now for myself, the brand, and for you, the faithful followers of Olivia Fox.

I am putting a paws, er, pause, on Olivia Fox's social presence for a short time to focus on what Olivia Fox means as a brand: what she stands for, what her style really is, what is she at her core?

I wanted Olivia to mean and be a lot of things, but that lead to a lot of conflict. Because of that conflict, the quality presented to you was inconsistent and wasn't where it should be.

Olivia Fox will return soon, better than ever.

Fun fact - I do NOT have 8 arms like the fancy pants Octopus does, so taking pictures is hard!

Also, the Daisy is being reassembled tomorrow! Her liner is complete, now she simply needs to sew up and get a strap and she's ready for a flirty night out with the girls on Friday!
