So, that's how the cookie crumbles...ahaa ahaa, ahaa. I bought this lot some time ago and haven't made it to this one until this week. This is 0 Guage, a little bigger than the sets you see at hobby lobby or hobby town in HO scale. I have several steam engines, remember my Christmas train, in this scale, all steam engine types. This diesel style was going to be a keeper. I sat it on the track and it did nothing. Sad. I opened it and it's what is called a dummy. It is a twin in appearance and made to look like your running 2 locomotives for extra power in a set. This is the unpowered unit. Sad. I disassembled everything that would come apart, cleaned and q- tipped, re wired the light and the front connector has a motor which can be uncoupled during use. Some of the things the railroad came up with to make the hard jobs they had a little easier, trickled into some of the smaller model versions. So, she is back together and fully functional, waiting on someone from eBay to buy her so her light may shine on. Hope you had a great day

This 0 gauge locomotive jewel is another piece of my education I suppose. I am going to have to find a book on identification and repair and maintenance on these Lionels. They are so cool, if you're a bit like me. This one appears to be a dummy, second, uncovered locomotive made like its motorized twin. This unit is adorned with a powered light, and an electric motor which operates the front coupler. It's dirty and a bit grimey from the old oils and it's life. So I'll clean it up with a few qtip swabs, and post it for sale....coming soon.

One of my favorite things about working on these model trains is how cool some of its creators had to be to think up and make the things we see and use in this hobby.
This tunnel was first produced just after WW II and has a couple of scratches but is perfect. A neighbor came and said he had a train that he got when he was a boy, and he is 70 plus. It hasn't run since then because the power supply just disnt work. So we took it apart, cleaned it up, a few q tips and some solder, and he is instantly 8 years old watching his train go around the track again. I'll never be wealthy by the world's standards, but I am a rich man by mine.

So, out of a recent sale, comes a vintage, probably 1971 is when the consensus says this model began production, beautiful and completely working 1666 Marx smoking Locomotive with a Sante Fe tender that the chug-chug sound works on. Tomorrow I will get the cars and clean them and hopefully remember to post another video...I couldn't wait tonight...this is so cool. It will be hard to sell this one because it is so rare and in such good condition. We will see what Tomorrow brings.

I was talking with an old friend the other night, working on this locomotive. It was broken, like humpty dumpty fell of the wall kind of broken. I said to myself, it shouldn't be hard to take some of these other trains and rebuild this one. Growing up, that's how most of my vehicles ran anyway. So, with some prayer and concentration, she lives and is quite powerful. I am not a mechanic nor an electrical motor specialist, or even a train repair guy, however I am blessed with a little common sense. Even if I did leave the bolt out of the flywheel one time while helping a friend change clutch.

So with Christmas being over and everyone getting caught up, the train business is really booming. I have acquired some great new trains and will be posting this weekend. One newcomer is an American Flyer which has some really awesome toys which come with it. Can't wait to get it cleaned up, oiled and ready for show.
The Sante Fe shown in this video is not for sale, it is the locomotive and tender from my personal Christmas set. The little ho scale set running is for sale. This AHM diesel 1745 Chicago and North Western is a beast...actually it's an electric locomotive in HO scale. Runs well, excellent condition. No box but bubble wrapped and waiting a new home. I have lots of cars you could pick from to make a set. Listing this one for $30, picked up. Plan on seeing it run if you can, and look at lots of different cars available. Maybe you have one that needs a little love, bring it and let's look...may be something simple. Whole sets, locomotive, track, power supply, and at least 4 rolling cars you can pick, around $70 to $100, depending on value of individual cars. Please feel free to call, text, or PM me. This is an HO scale Locomotive and Tinder. I do not know the manufacturer. It is in good shape, some wear on decals right side. Estate sale find, not working originally, so found out it just needed a little love and a longer screw. The headlamp works and its a strong motor. The bells are brass i think and should be polished to shine. I have some more 1776 cars, but will post them later. I am listing this for $50.00 as is.
