I Started it out with $20.00 Lets show what the Community can do together!

Giving It Forward normally does not allow requests for cash, rent, utilities, or personal bills inside the group. We want to keep the group focused on giving items, time, skills, and practical help.

However, from time to time, God’s Grace Studios may choose to share an individual fundraiser on our business page when someone reaches out with a serious need.

Ashley contacted me asking about rental assistance. She shared that she has been unable to work after undergoing two surgeries since the end of March, has another procedure being discussed for September 14, and is currently wearing a heart monitor because of episodes of syncope.

She is now facing eviction and says she needs to either come up with the money she owes or move by September 11, with nowhere else currently lined up.

One day...

Bear with me this is a long one.

Follow me into the future for a moment and let me share what I dream God’s Grace Studios and Giving It Forward could become.

One thing I know: this will always be faith-forward.

The main goal is to spread God’s love, show grace, and help people who need it.

Even if the business side of God’s Grace Studios never becomes what I hope it will, I pray Giving It Forward never dies.

But let’s dream together for a minute.

One day, I hope GGS is no longer operating out of my home garage.

I see a large building with a woodworking shop where we can build and restore furniture. An auto repair bay where people in need can receive affordable or sometimes free repairs. A storefront for God’s Grace Studios products. And a large Giving It Forward area where people can donate useful items and families can receive the things they need.

I dream of having enough work and resources to hire people who need an opportunity — whether they need a permanent job, temporary work to get through a difficult season, or simply somewhere to serve and rebuild.

I would love to see Giving It Forward grow beyond a Facebook group and eventually become an actual nonprofit organization dedicated to helping this community.

And I dream even bigger than that.

I envision a community where people help each other with almost anything.

Maybe you know auto repair.
Someone else knows plumbing.
Someone has a truck.
Someone can mow a yard.
Someone can build furniture.
Someone can cook.
Someone has something sitting in their garage that another family desperately needs.

Not everyone has money to give.

But almost everyone has something they can give.

Someday, I would love to create what I call an “in-between home” — a safe place for people coming out of rehab or other difficult situations who are homeless or have nowhere healthy to go.

A place where someone could begin with a free room, get back on their feet, find work, and eventually contribute a small weekly amount until they are ready for a home of their own.

A place where counseling resources could be available. Where faith-based recovery meetings such as AA or NA could happen. Where someone could rebuild their life instead of being sent right back into the environment they were trying to escape.

And maybe someday there could even be additional housing for people experiencing homelessness. There never seems to be enough room for everyone who needs somewhere safe to sleep.

I have always wanted to build things people can afford — from simple, inexpensive furniture for working families all the way up to beautiful custom pieces for those who want them.

But my heart and my focus are on the people who need help.

That is where I feel led.

I truly believe God has me where He wants me right now. I believe some, maybe even all, of these dreams could eventually happen.

But they are still my dreams.

I remain open to His plans.

If God changes the direction, I want to follow Him.

I also believe there can be a day when this business pays my bills, people are being helped every day, and our community is stronger because people decided to help one another.

I am not trying to get rich.

That has never been the goal.

I would love to make enough to live comfortably, keep the business running, and continue doing this work. Beyond that, I want to keep putting resources back into helping people and strengthening the community.

And this is the uncomfortable part for me:

I hate asking for money.

But helping people costs money.

Lumber costs money.
Hardware costs money.
Repair parts cost money.
Tools wear out.
Electricity and heat cost money.
Transportation costs money.

And for Giving It Forward to become sustainable — something I can continue doing instead of eventually having to walk away from it to take another job — it will require financial support along with donated items, skills, and time.

There are items on the GGS website for as little as a couple dollars that support the business.

There are also donated items available for any donation amount, and 100% of those donations goes back into Giving It Forward.

And if money isn't something you can give, that's okay.

Give time.
Give a skill.
Give an item.
Give a ride.
Help someone repair something.
Share what we're doing.
Pray for the mission.

This is bigger than selling furniture.

It isn't just a dream.

It’s a mission.
It’s a ministry.
It’s a community.

And we’re only getting started.

Want to help support the **Giving It Forward** mission?

**Giving It Forward is a God’s Grace Studios community mission focused on helping people with practical, everyday needs.** We connect people who need help with people who have something to give, whether that is furniture, household items, clothing, time, skills, repairs, transportation, or other support. GGS also repairs, restores, and builds items to give to people in need when we are able.

We have also received several **non-essential items**, such as home decor and other miscellaneous items. Instead of giving these away as essential needs, we use them to help fund the mission.

There is **no set price** on these items. If you see something you want, give whatever amount you choose — $1, $5, $10, or whatever you feel comfortable giving.

**100% of the money received from these donated items goes back into Giving It Forward** to help pay for lumber, hardware, repair parts, supplies, shop expenses related to the mission, and other needs that allow us to help people.
