I know I've been silent and I do apologize, I tend to keep my private life private, but the recent loss of a friend has been so profound that I felt the need to take a moment and share. I know I'm not alone in this struggle and wanted to let others know, you are not alone and take time.
Take time because mental health is important.
Take time to let the people around know just how much they have impacted your life.
Take time to share how they inspired you, let them know, talk about it and don't be afraid to make it weird!

Magdalena “Maggie” Jabłońska
U.S. Marine, Artist, Advocate, Interior Designer, EDM dancer 😉

Maggie was so many things; a Marine, a sister, a daughter, a friend, advocate and an animal whispering rescuer with the BIGGEST smile and heart. She was at home in the water, found the beauty in cars and architecture, and was a visionary artist who had the ability to see the walls around us, not just as they are, but what they could become. She was an authentically bold and creative Interior Designer that could walk into a space noticing the smallest coding detail off by just a half inch, worked countless nights on a zero budget project turning a homeless shelter into a community outreach job training center and shelter. Then turn around Breaking the Box all together to construct the most inventive sky bridge garden park. I swear she could find the funniest doppelganger pictures of my goofy doggo bringing a smile to my face with every tag.
She was a true inspiration that had a way of reminding you to push on when you felt you couldn't and there was always a sunrise waiting to burst over the horizon while sipping a steaming cup of coffee. I had the honor of sharing these moments and memories of her and know they are just a small fraction of the person she was, and the impact she had on so many.
She was so many things and had so many more great things and possibilities left to do…
To say you will be missed is a colossal understatement; your impact on this world is immeasurable.

Putting the finishing touches on our new display pieces. We will definitely have to do a Before and After reel for this one, because wow!!! It's gone through a complete restoration and transformation from where it began and it's not done yet 😍

Hello Vintage Lovers!
As we loaded up the last of our shop from this beautiful building last week, we took a moment to reflect on our history in this grand historic building and we wanted to share some of that with you.

Throughout college and my career as an Interior Designer, I focused on Green Design. Preserving, Restoring, Reusing, Reclaiming and Recycling as much as possible. To be a sustainable Interior Designer, that rescues pieces from the past, given the opportunity to set up a vintage shop in this beautiful Art Deco building, wasn't just a dream, but literal perfection.

The original Jackson Storage building was just a small 10,000 sqft warehouse on the corner of Ogden(now Burlington Ave) and 6th Ave, completed in 1907. A visual reference for those who have been in our building; the Parking lot entrance and the door to the right of the lobby, were the original building. In the 1920s, architect Thomas Kingleey designed and supervised the construction of the 45,000 sqft building we see today, opening to the public in 1924. Its artistically ornate terracotta tiles of Portuguese and Moorish influence adorn the facade of this great Art Deco building. The building maintained its original function of storage for 119 years, adding additional storage to the horse and buggy Van Garage and to the horse stable house in back. It was also converted to additional units inside and an apartment upstairs.

The first warehouse Jackson Storage built, is located at 3611 W Cermak Rd, Chicago and received Landmark status in 2024. Unfortunately, ours did not and 2026 marks the end for the storage business that opened to the public in 1924 and the Antique Mall that opened in 1998.
Slide through our pictures of the building.

While I'm heartbroken to see this grand lady come down, I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to have been able to call this historical building home, even if it was just 9 years of its 119 year history. 💙

Make sure to follow us for updates and vintage items available for local pickup and some shipped.

When you have a whole shop to pack up before the building gets torn down, but have so many cool things and are easily distracted 😆

It's definitely been a busy few weeks. The level of packing, taking down walls and pulling up flooring after 9 years is wild, and definitely hasn't been easy. But we look forward to setting up shop elsewhere and will continue to sell locally until then!

So stay tuned y'all!
