Back in 2009 when my leathercraft began to move from a hobby into something that resembled a small business, the Rover was one of the first wallets I offered.

I remember cutting each piece by hand (no cutting die at the time) and stabbing each stitching hole one at a time with just an awl. I used a larger fender washer as a template to cut the curve at the top of the pockets as well. It was quite a chore just to make one! Eventually I invested in tools to make the process a lot easier and faster. I still dye and finish by hand though as I just love the transformation of natural vegtan leather.

I’ve had an apprentice in the shop the past few weeks earning work hours for a special senior high school project. She wanted to learn how to make a bag as well as a plague doctor mask and I’d say she did a great job! 🙌
