Made a pen yesterday while here at Scout Camp. I’ve never done wood turning before and I had an absolute blast making this! Now it’s got me thinking maybe I should get into making pens too. What do you think, a line of Blackthorn pens perhaps?

Had a bit of this really nice 5 ounce CrazyHorse in just the right length for a belt. It’s too thin on its own for a good belt so I lined it with some heavy 6 ounce vegtan dyed a light brown. I love how the solid brass buckle in antique finish really brings out the warm tones.

The Brogued Rover inspired by the early 16th century footwear from Ireland and Scotland with the word “brogue” meaning shoe in Gaelic. The perforations in the shoes were functional to allow water to drain as the terrain was quite wet and boggy. I think it looks fantastic in wallet form.

A while back singer/songwriter Dylan Walshe asked if I could make a mat with a buckle and loop to hold his tambourine in place while being played.

To be honest I was a bit intimidated as there were a lot of unknowns as I’d never heard of such a thing. But, looks like I nailed it!
