Sew Blessed Alterations I specialize in wedding gown alterations, with experience in a wide range of adjustments and custom projects. My story started when I was a teenger in 4-H.

I typically accept only two brides per month to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail. My mother taught me to sew when I was young and I later designed and made my senior year prom dress! I went on to major in textiles clothing and design at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. I interned at Suburban Bridal and David's Bridal, learning how to do wedding alterations. I now work out of my home studio doing all sorts of alterations and projects.

I could not wait to share this story! 🤍

I first met Megan and her mom, Michelle, back in January. From the very beginning, Megan had one dream for her wedding day—to wear her mother's wedding gown. The dress held so many memories, but it wasn't the right size, and she had a vision for making it uniquely her own.

Over the next several months, Megan worked incredibly hard to reach her health and fitness goals for her wedding day while we worked together to transform this beautiful heirloom. We removed the sleeves, added a corset back, adjusted the gorgeous bow, added a few darts for a better fit, and inserted small side panels under the arms. Every change was carefully made to preserve the beauty of the original gown while creating the perfect dress for Megan.

The result was everything we had hoped for.

This past week, Megan married the love of her life surrounded by the breathtaking Colorado mountains, and she looked absolutely stunning. Knowing she was able to wear her mother's wedding dress while beginning her own marriage made this project even more meaningful.

It was such a joy working with both Megan and Michelle to create the perfect fit for each of their dresses. Moments like these are why I love what I do. Congratulations to the newlyweds! 🤍💍🏔️

It was such a joy working with Jackie and her mother, Heidi, on their wedding alterations!

Jackie had quite the story about how she ended up with her gown. She found a sample dress that she absolutely loved, but it was a few sizes too large. With several alterations, we were able to create the perfect fit by taking in the back seams, shoulder seams, sleeves, and a bit through the sides. We also hemmed the gown and added a bustle so it was ready for her big day.

Jackie also had a stunning cathedral-length veil that was longer than her train. We shortened it so it flowed beautifully with the length of her gown, making it the perfect finishing touch to her bridal look.

Jackie looked absolutely breathtaking, and it was an honor to be a small part of such a special day. Congratulations to the newlyweds on your beautiful end-of-June wedding! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness! 🤍

Before her beautiful June wedding, I had the honor of helping Tori with her gown alterations. To make her dress fit perfectly, we took in the side seams, hemmed the gown, and added a bustle so she could dance the night away.

One of my favorite details was the special touch she added to the inside of her dress—a custom patch embroidered with her husband's sheriff badge number. It was her meaningful "something blue" and such a sweet way to carry a piece of him with her down the aisle.

Tori looked absolutely stunning, and it was a joy to be a small part of such a beautiful day. Congratulations to the happy couple! 💙✨

Taylor chose a classic and elegant satin ball gown for her wedding day. We met several times throughout the alteration process, taking in the side seams to achieve the perfect fit and hemming the gown to the ideal length. Taylor also requested a ballroom bustle—a style I hadn't created before—but I was excited for the opportunity to learn something new. The bustle turned out beautifully and complemented her gown perfectly!

Taylor looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day. I also had the pleasure of altering dresses for her sister and mother, making the experience even more special. They were such a fun group to work with, and I'm so grateful to have been a small part of their celebration. Wishing Taylor and her family a lifetime of wonderful memories! ❤️✨

Pallavi moved to the United States about 17 years ago to pursue her education, and it was here that she met her husband. The couple was married last year in India in a beautiful traditional wedding ceremony that honored Pallavi's heritage and culture. This year, they celebrated with an American wedding surrounded by family and friends, and I had the honor of helping Pallavi with her gown alterations.

Her dress fit beautifully, requiring only a hem and bustle to make it perfect for her special day. I also had the pleasure of assisting her mother-in-law, Susan, with alterations for her dress. It was such a joy working with both of these beautiful women and being a small part of such a meaningful celebration. Each gown needed taken in, shortened, and we customized their draped sleeves to be removable for a versatile look. The final result was absolutely stunning — and so were they! ✨👗

Katie and I met several times to get her dress fitting just perfectly — especially since her gown was several sizes too big! In the end, we took it in about four sizes, hemmed several layers, and finished it with a bustle to bring up her beautiful train.
