Sew Lovely Alterations is growing everyday!
One of the biggest changes we’ve made recently is moving our sewing space from the front of the shop into our large back room. It gives us so much more room to work, stay organized, and someday even add a third seamstress to the team!
Jordan (my amazing employee) has really found their groove working on casual clothing and everyday alterations, which allows me to focus on bridal and special occasion gowns. They have absolutely been thriving, and I couldn’t be more proud of how much they’ve grown.
Now that we each have our own work area, we’re having fun making the spaces our own.
If you’ve looked at our wishlist and wondered why some things are green and others are pink… here’s the reason! Jordan’s favorite color is green, mine is pink, and we jokingly refer to Cosmo & Wanda from The Fairly OddParents. So naturally, our workspaces are following the theme!
I also just want to take a minute to say how incredibly lucky I feel.
People ask me all the time how things have been since moving into the storefront, and honestly… it’s been more than I ever dreamed it could be. Business has grown tremendously. Every day I get to welcome new faces through the door while also seeing more and more familiar regulars. It’s such an incredible feeling, and I don’t take a single bit of it for granted. I feel truly blessed.
I also couldn’t make this post without recognizing the people who help make all of this possible.
My sister, Katie, works behind the scenes answering messages, reminding me to respond when I’m buried under bridal gowns, handling the conversations she’s best suited for, sending the ones my way that need my attention, and helping keep me grounded when life gets overwhelming.
And Jordan… thank you for being such a dependable, hardworking employee. Thank you for showing up every day ready to work, for embracing all of my weirdness, for making me laugh, and for continually impressing me with your talent. Watching your confidence and skills grow has been one of my favorite parts of this journey.
We’re a small team, but we’re a mighty one. Every stitch, every fitting, every late night, every happy bride, it all happens because of the people behind the scenes.
