The dream of owning a little boutique didnât begin three years ago. It began years earlier, walking through tiny shops with my Gram. Those afternoons sparked something in me. I loved the charm, the treasure hunting, the feeling that every item had been chosen with care, and the look of joy on her face as we took it all in. The opportunity to open The Lafayette Mercantile came just months after a devastating loss in my family.
Looking back now, I believe this little shop found me exactly when I needed it. It gave me somewhere to pour my grief, my creativity, my hope, and eventually...my joy. Over the last three years, these four walls have held so much more than clothing, candles, gifts, and home dĂŠcor.

Maggie... for nearly four decades youâve been my loudest cheerleader and the voice in my head whenever self-doubt tries to creep in. Thank you for always reminding me who I am.
To every employee who has helped shape The Lafayette Mercantile...thank you for sharing your kindness, creativity, and heart with every person who walked through o
