Our community has been shaken.
Recent reports involving the abuse of children by trusted adults have left many hearts heavy. Our prayers are with the children, families, congregations, and every survivor whose own experiences may have resurfaced in the wake of these events.
At Refuge for Women Texas Gulf Coast, we see the lasting effects of sexual abuse and exploitation every day. We walk alongside women on their journey toward healing, and we know that many stories begin with a betrayal of trust.
That's why we believe protecting the vulnerable is a responsibility WE ALL SHARE. Prevention is possible. Through education, awareness, honest conversations, and the courage to report concerns, we can create a community where children are protected, survivors are supported, and exploitation has fewer places to hide.
We are here to partner with churches, schools, youth organizations, and community groups to equip young people and trusted adults with the tools to recognize grooming behaviors, establish healthy boundaries, and help prevent exploitation before it begins.
