Many of you use these already, but I thought I would share this: I pre-washed this marbled red fabric with Shout Color Catchers. The large catcher sheet shows the amount of red dye that washed out the first time around (I used 2 catchers, luke warm water, and a little detergent for 2 yards of fabrics.) The smaller sheet shows the amount of dye “caught” by the second washing. (I tore one catcher in half and used both halves to distribute them, lukewarm water and a shorter wash cycle with no detergent.) Yet, the fabric itself still looks as great as it started out! I’m planning on pairing it with a white fabric, so I’m glad I did this before I used it! If you haven’t tried these Color Catchers before on colors such as reds, deep blues, maybe purples and blacks, it might not hurt to try it!

Lake Preston used to have a fun community event called “Watermelon Days”. I love all watermelon quilts and patterns because they remind me of those good old days! Aren’t these watermelon patterns just the cutest thing?! 🍉
