Before multiplexes and streaming, a trip to the Polk Theatre was an event. Families dressed up, friends met downtown, and for a few hours everyone escaped into another world beneath a ceiling full of stars.
Since opening in 1928, the Polk Theatre has welcomed generations of moviegoers and live performances, becoming one of Polk County's most treasured landmarks. Thanks to the community that fought to save it, it's still standing today—keeping a little piece of old Florida alive.

Before the drive-thrus on every corner and food apps on every phone, there was Andy's.
For generations of Polk County families, Andy's wasn't just a place to grab a burger—it was where memories were made. After ballgames, on Friday nights, after church, or just because someone wanted one of those famous shakes, chances are you've pulled into this parking lot at least once.
