In honor of May being National Historic Preservation Month, we continue celebrating our renovation project from 25 years ago to remove a 1970-era white aluminum façade from our Downtown Lakewood storefront to restore our building’s original early-1900s architectural details.

In addition to this project garnering recognition from Cleveland Restoration Society and Heritage Ohio, our shop was the recipient of this clay art created by talented local artist Dale Gallis to pay homage to our historic storefront. It remains in our office to this day.

Thank you to the many people, businesses and organizations who made our historic renovation project possible.

In honor of May being National Historic Preservation Month, we continue celebrating our renovation project from 25 years ago to remove a 1970-era white aluminum façade from our Downtown Lakewood storefront to restore our building’s original early-1900s architectural details.

Said co-owner Chas Geiger: “We knew the aluminum façade had run its course, and that the time had come to restore the original architecture. We received assistance from several entities, including the City of Lakewood and Cleveland Restoration Society. It was a major undertaking that included brick repair and rebuilding the bay windows to match old photos. This renovation helped lead to similar historic restoration projects along Detroit Avenue, and we remain grateful to everyone who made it possible.”
